Video Editing Tips
==================
Use Sonic MyDVD to capture your videos onto your hard drive, trim your videos,
and create VCDs and DVDs. Use ArcSoft ShowBiz to do advanced editing of your
videos and add effects like transitions, titles, and music.

Known Issues
============

Installation
------------
- Uninstalling MyDVD will not uninstall ArcSoft ShowBiz. You must uninstall
ArcSoft ShowBiz separately, using Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

Previewing and Capturing of Video
----------------------------------
- If you are doing a long-term capture and you notice that the audio and video
are out of sync, Adaptec recommends that you do multiple shorter captures instead
  of one long one.

- Some systems may have problems previewing audio and video in the Capture window
and the preview may appear choppy or you might hear a little "popping" sound.
However, the recorded file, DVD, or VCD will not have this issue. Updating the
video and/or audio drivers for your video card and/or audio card might correct
this issue. Check the manufacturer's Web site for driver updates for your video
  and/or audio card.

- In WinDVR, Closed Caption text will not display during recording or in timeshift
  mode.

- In WinDVR, scheduled recording may begin later than the preset time, depending
on your system. To avoid missing the first part of your program, manually set
the recording to begin ahead of scheduled program time. This option is available
if scheduling is done via Electronic Programming Guide (EPG).

- If you are using WinDVR to watch TV and notice that the audio for all the TV
channels are in mono mode, you can force the audio to stereo by choosing manual
selection in the Audio Mode setting under the TV tab in the Setup and select
  Stereo.

Editing Video and Burning of Media
----------------------------------
- When a clip is edited in ShowBiz and is brought to MyDVD, both ShowBiz
and MyDVD will be minimized and will appear in the Taskbar. To maximize
the MyDVD window, click on the MyDVD Taskbar item.

- When burning DVDs with Sonic MyDVD, some USB 2.0 DVD burners may not completely
burn a DVD if it is connected to a USB 2.0 port on the motherboard. To solve
this issue, try updating your system with the latest Microsoft USB 2.0 drivers.

Suspend and Resume
------------------
- Windows XP SP1 users only — If the AVC-2310 device is connected to a USB 2.0
port that uses Microsoft USB 2.0 drivers, your system may report that the
AVC-2310 has been removed when you resume from suspend/standby/hibernate
mode. Power off the AVC-2310, then power on again to continue. Update
Windows XP with the latest service pack to eliminate the problem.

- Windows XP and Windows 2000 users only — If the AVC-2310 device is connected
to a USB 2.0 port that uses Adaptec USB 2.0 drivers, your system may report
that the AVC-2310 cannot be found when you resume from standby or hibernate
mode. Power off the AVC-2310, then power on again to continue.

- If your computer enters hibernate mode, your AVC-2310 device will not be able
to start a scheduled recording in WinDVR. Adaptec recommends that you disable
hibernation from the Power Options Control Panel. Refer to your computer's
  documentation for instructions.
