Readme.txt Driver File Contents (SMC9432_all.exe)

These are the drivers for SMC 9432TX EtherPower II Network Interface Card.

When the BNC port of the card is used, the epic100B.o driver has to be used.
For 10/100 Base-T, is used the driver epic 100T.o. Both drivers 
are be compiled with Kernel 2.0.35, but they can be loaded in every Kernelversion.
To be sure that the drivers work with another Kernelversion, they should be once more compiled. It is done just by a "make" command in their directory, 
both drivers:
          epic100B.c
and       epic100.c
are generated and they will be loaded using the "insmode" command.
By loading the module, it is possible to change between the two ports, without rebooting.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
