      A) Install ODI/ NDIS 3.0 driver for WFW 3.11

SMC Support drivers for WFW 3.11

SMC supports NDIS 3.0 and DOS/ODI drivers for Windows
for Workgroups 3.11. A description of these 2 files follows:

      Driver name Location Description

SMC1208W.386 A:\WFW311 NDIS 3.0 driver in enhanced mode

      SMC1208.COM A:\DOS SMC EZ Card 10 PCI DOS/ODI driver

A) Install ODI/ NDIS 3.0 driver for WFW 3.11

You must make sure that the ODI driver is loaded first before you
select the Windows driver. If needed see the readme.txt file in the DOS
directory for installing the ODI driver.

    1. Run Windows by typing "WIN" at the DOS prompt.

    2. Click the "Network" icon in the Main Program Group.

    3. Click the "Network Setup" icon in the Network window.

    4. Check the drivers button. If it is hidden and cannot be selected,
then go to the next step. If it is visible, you still need to go
to step 5 to set up a Novell shell.

    5. Click the "Networks" button.

    6. Select "Install Microsoft Windows Network." Select "Other" and
then "Novell Netware Workstation Shell 4.0" for VLM or
        "...Shell 3.x" for NETX.

    7. Click the "OK" button.

    8. Select the "Drivers" item from the "Network Setup" dialog box.

    9. Select "Add Adapters." The "Add Network Adapter" dialog box appears.

   10. If:
        a. You are installing this SMC network card for the first time,
select "Unlisted" or "Updated Network Adapter." Then, click "OK."

        b. You have installed SMC's network card before, just select the
"SMC EZ Card PCI 10 driver" from the drivers list table,
select "OK," and then go to step 12.

   11. Insert the SMC Driver Diskette in floppy drive A or B,
then type the destination drive and path name.
Make sure the full path of the directory (i.e., A:\WFW311)
        is given. Select "OK."
Then, you will see the "SMC EZ Card PCI 10 driver" dialog box
        appear. Select "OK."

   12. When the Network Drivers window appears, you can use
"Add Adapter" and/or "Add Protocol" to add more
network cards (up to four) and protocols. Refer to your
Windows for Workgroups manual for more information.

Select "Setup" and make the appropriate selection.

        There are 4 driver types:
. Real mode and Enhanced mode NDIS
           . Enhanced mode NDIS
           . Real mode NDIS
           . ODI driver

YOU MUST SELECT THE ODI DRIVER TO LET THE NETWARE ODI
        DRIVER WORK IN WFW 3.11.

        Select "Close," followed by "OK."

    13. When prompted with the "Microsoft Windows Networks Names" box,
        select "OK."

Follow the screen prompts to complete driver installation.

    14. At the end of the installation, you will be prompted
to accept all the options you selected and restart
your computer, or to return to DOS. Restart your computer so
        your options can take effect.

Some specifics of the installation process may vary according to
each user's needs. Refer to the Microsoft Windows for Workgroups
    user manual for more information.

NOTE: To connect to a Novell server from within Windows for Workgroups,
make sure you are logged on to a NetWare server before starting
Windows. Also make sure that you have set up Windows for
          Workgroups to use Novell NetWare.
FYI: The Windows file ODIHLP.EXE needs to be loaded after the ODI driver
         in the autoexec.bat file.
FYI: To install the ODI driver, you will need the NETWARE.DRV file. You
can download the current version of this file from Novell's web site.
