A. File Description

README.TXT      This file. Presents a summary of the contents for
                Netware Client32 driver installation.

SMC1208.LAN     Client32 ODI driver for SMC 10Mbps PCI Bus Ethernet Adapter.
                This driver complies with Netware ODI Server driver SPEC 3.3.

SMC1208.LDI     The driver (SMC1208.LAN) installation information file for
                Netware Server 4.11, DOS32, Microsoft Windows 3.x.

MSC1208.INF     The driver (SMC1208.LAN) installation information file for
                Microsoft Windows 95.

B. Driver Installation for DOS32

     1. If you have completed installed the Netware Client 32 for DOS,
        all you have to do is to modify STARTNET.BAT.  Please see the
        sample STARTNET.BAT below.
        If not, Please follow the step 2 - step 7 shown below.

    Sample STARTNET.BAT is as follow:

     2. Run INSTALL.EXE from Netware DOS 32 diskette 1 (or from Netware
        4.11 CD). When the product manual appears, mark the
        "Netware Client 32 for DOS" item, then press <Enter>.

     3. Select "OTHER DRIVERS" item from "32-bit Network Board Drivers" menu,
        then press <Enter>.

     4. Select "USER SPECIFIED 32 BIT DRIVER." Then press <Enter>.

     5. Insert SMC 10Mbps PCI Bus Ethernet Adapter Driver Diskette
        into your floppy diskette drive, then specify
        the driver path like A: or B:.

     6. Follow the instructions to complete the Client32 for DOS software
        installation.

     7. Reboot your machine.


C. Driver Installation for Microsoft Windows 3.x

    Please refer to Content B. In step 2, mark "Netware Client 32 for DOS"
    and "Client 32 for Windows"; in step 5, specify the driver path like
    A:\NWCLIENT\CLIENT32, then follow step 3..7 to complete installation.


D. Driver Installation for Microsoft Windows 95

    If you have installed the Microsoft Client in your Windows 95 system,
    you should remove the adapter object and NDIS 2/3 driver of the
    adapter from the Windows 95 system.  If you have previously installed 
    an SMC 10Mbps PCI Bus Ethernet Adapter NDIS 2/3 driver,you should take 
    the following steps before installing the SMC 10Mbps PCI Bus Ethernet
    Adapter Client32 driver.


     D.1 Remove the previously installed adapter object & driver for
         the SMC 10Mbps PCI Bus Ethernet Adapter, if any.
     ==============================================================
     1. Click the "My Computer" icon in the Main Program Group.
     2. Click the "Control Panel" icon from My Computer window.
     3. Click the "System" icon in the Control Panel window.
     4. Click the "Network adapter" icon in the System window.
     5. Click the "SMC EZ Card 10 PCI (SMC1208)"
         icon in the System window.
     6. Click the <Remove> button, then click the <OK> button.
     7. Close the opened windows.



     D.2 Client 32 Driver Installation on Windows 95
     ===============================================

     8. Plug the SMC 10Mbps PCI Bus Ethernet adapter into one
        of the PCI slots of your PC machine.
     9. Turn the power on to boot up Windows 95.
    10. Windows 95 will then prompt with "SMC EZ Card 10 PCI
        (SMC1208)" in New Hardware Found dialog box.
    11. Follow the instructions to complete installation.

         Note: Windows 95 will ask you to key in the proper path for
               the following diskette:

            a. Netware Client 32 for Windows 95 Disk,
            b. PCI-Bus Ethernet Adapter Driver Diskette
               --> Insert Driver Diskette,
               then, assign the path to A:\NWCLIENT\CLIENT32
            c. Windows 95 CD-ROM
