SMC2645W Wireless Compact Flash Card Kit General Description

The SMC2645W is an 11 Mbps Wireless Compact Flash Card Kit that is based 
on IEEE 802.11b standard. The new Wireless Compact Flash Kit is comprised 
of a SMC2642W Wireless Compact Flash Card and an SMCCF-CVT CF to PCMCIA 
Converter. SMC2645W allows for simple conversion of SMC2642W Wireless 
Compact Flash Card to standard Type II PCMCIA Card for use in laptops or 
other windows-based devices with a PCMCIA Type II slot. The new product 
offers both 64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption to ensure secure data 
transmission across the network. SMC2645W uses Direct Sequence Spread 
Spectrum (DSSS) technology and is immune to interference. It operates at 
up to 11 Mbps with Automatic Fallback to 5.5, 2, and 1 Mbps with 
transmission distances of up to 700 feet. This ultra compact type II 
Wireless Compact Flash Card Kit is easy to install and simple to use. The 
SMC2645W enables your Windows CE based Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) 
and Windows based Laptops to instantaneously connect to an existing wireless 
network.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
