Instructions for Printer Driver Installation into Windows 3.1:
1. Insert this printer driver diskette into your drive A or B.
2. Start Windows; from the MAIN window, open the CONTROL PANEL.
3. Double-Click on "PRINTERS" opening up the PRINTERS window.
4. From the PRINTERS window, select the ADD>> option.
A list of printers will appear. From this list, select the
option "Install Unlisted or Updated Printer" and then click
on Install.
5. A dialog box will appear showing "A:\" as the location of
your printer file. Click OK (or enter a different path ie: B:\).
6. Now the "Add Unlisted or Updated Printer" dialog box will appear.
Highlight the Brother Printer you desire and click OK.
note: you will be requested to insert a Windows 3.1 diskette at
this point if installing an HL-xxPS Brother Printer driver.
7. Now you are back in the printers dialog box and the printer you
selected is highlighted. If it is not, you can select it by
clicking on it. You may select the option "Set as Default
Printer" if you want this printer to be your default printer.
8. Click on "Close". Your Brother Printer driver is now installed.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
