   Introduction:
   -------------
      This document describes the procedure to install the SCO UNIX driver
      for CNet PowerNIC 650Eplus PNP Ethernet Adapter.

   Location of Driver:     \SCO5\DRIVER.O
   ------------------

   The following files will be used in this installation:
   ------------------------------------------------------

      driver.o    :  CN650EP MDI Driver Program
      setup       :  Transfer dos format to unix format setup program
      master      :  Used by netconfig
      system      :  Used by netconfig
      node        :  Used by netconfig
      space.c     :  Used by netconfig
      space.h     :  Used by netconfig
      lkcfg       :  Used by netconfig
      AOF/r2e     :  Used by netconfig


   Installing driver procedure on SCO UNIX :
   ----------------------------------------
      Before you start with the installation  process,  make sure that the
      SCO UNIX system is properly installed. Similarly,your adapter should
      also be properly installed in your machine.

      1. Login as root user. (On maintenance mode)

      2. Put CNet PowerNIC 650Eplus SCO UNIX Driver diskette to floppy A: and use doscp
         command to copy the file "setup" for installing CNet PowerNIC 650Eplus SCO UNIX
         Driver into UNIX's directories as following :

             # cd /
             # doscp A:/sco5/setup /setup
             # chmod +x /setup
             # ./setup

      3. Use netconfig utility
         Avaiable options :

             # netconfig

      4.  To add adapters, select "Add New Lan Adapter" from "Hardware".

      5.  Select "CNet PowerNIC 650Eplus PNP Ethernet Adapter Driver".
      
         NOTES: If you ever used old CN650EP driver, you can find the description
           "CNet PowerNIC 650Eplus PNP Ethernet Adapter Driver, board 0".
           Now please ignore it or you also can remove it from list
           using below method:

           # cd /usr/lib/netconfig/info
           # rm r0e0


      6.  Add Protocol to select SCO TCP/IP. 
       
      7.  Enter the internet Address of this interface    n.n.n.n

      8.  Enter the netmask for this interface         (default 255.255.255.0)

      9.  Enter the boardcast address for this interface  default: n.n.n.n

     10.  Do you want to relink to kernel now ?           y

     11. Do you want this kernel to boot by default (y/n) y

     12. Do you want the kernel environment rebuilt (y/n) y

     13. Reboot unix

        # reboot

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
