The LAN Server and Lantastic driver files are in the \NDIS_20 subdirectory
of this diskette.

* LAN Server 3.0 *
******************

  Install driver on DOS LAN Requester
  -----------------------------------
  1. Insert the IBM LAN Support Program (LSP) Version 1.30 (or higher)
     Diskette into your floppy drive A:.

  2. Type A:\dxmaid and press <Enter>.

  3. The screen will display the IBM logo. Press <Enter> twice until
     the "Environment Information" appears on screen.

  4. Responds to the screen prompts, specifying the following values
     for each field, use the <Space Bar> to toggle between choices:

            Configuration for this computer?          Yes
            Use existing configuration information?   Yes
            Do you have adapter option diskettes?     Yes
            Are you configuring for two adapters?     No
            Do you need 802.2 interface support?      Yes

            Source for LSP                           A:\
            Target for new configuration             C:\LSP

     Make sure that the values given above are correct, then press
     <Enter> to store your choices.

  5. Insert the PRO110(B) driver diskette in floppy A, and specify
     pathname A:\NDIS_20\DOS,then press ENTER.

  6. Follow screen instructions to complete the process. Simply
     pressing <Enter> for each screen display will select the default
     options. Press <Enter> until you reach the display prompting you
     to insert the LSP diskette.

  7. Insert the LSP diskette as prompted. Press <Enter> to acknowledge
     completion of the action.

  8. A screen showing the current configuration detected will be
     displayed. It should show the PRO110(B) Fast Ethernet Adapter
     and the protocols already selected (i.e., "IBM IEEE 802.2" and
     "IBM OS/2 NETBIOS").

  9. Press <F4>. to save the new configuration. This completes the LSP
     installation.

  10. Save the configuration and reboot your computer.

  11. Insert the DOS LAN Requester Install Diskette 1 into your floppy
      drive.

  12. Type A:\INSTALL    <Enter>

  13. The IBM logo will again appear on the screen. Press <Enter> to
      move on to the next screen.

  14. Follow screen instructions, pressing <Enter> to move from
      screen-to-screen until you are prompted to indicate the pathname
      of the DOS LAN Requester directory (C:\DOSLAN ).

  15. Specify the pathname (C:\DOSLAN is the default) for the DOS LAN
      Requester directory . Then press <Enter> to continue.

  16. The program will ask you for the services that you require.

  17. Highlight the appropriate option. Select either "Send messages"
      or "Send, View, Edit, and Log message" option. (Normally, second
      option "Send, View, Edit and Log message" is selected).

  18. Specify the PC's ID and domain ID.

  19. Follow screen prompts to complete the installation.


  Install driver on OS/2 LAN Server 3.0
  -------------------------------------
  1. In the window titled "Command Prompt", click the OS/2 Full Screen
     icon.

  2. Copy AX8140.OS2 and AX8140.NIF files from your Driver diskette
     (A:\NDIS_20\OS2) to C:\IBMCOM\MACS.

  3. Change to the C:\IBMCOM directory and execute the LAPS command. The
     LAN adapter protocol setup menu will appear. There are five items:
     Install, Configure, Remove, Exit, and Help.

  4. Click the "Install" item.

  5. Assign drive A: or B: with path \NDIS_20\OS2 to install the driver
     into the hard disk under the Install Aditional Network Drivers window.

  6. After copy is complete, the message "LAPS Successfully Installed
     the Network Driver PRO110(B) Fast Ethernet Adapter" will appears.
     Then, click OK and return to the main menu.

  7. Next, choose the Config button to configure the environment of the
     driver.

  8. Click on the "Continue item in "Configure".

  9. In the Configure Workstation, the window consists of Network Adapter,
     Protocol, and Current Configuration. Choose the "PRO110(B) Fast
     Ethernet Adapter" item in the Network Adapter along with the appropriate
     protocol types. Finally, the Current Configuration displays all of
     user's requirements. Check that all is correct, then click the OK
     button.

 10. Return to the main menu, choose exit, and reboot.

* LAN Server 4.0 *
******************

  Install driver on DOS LAN Service 4.0
  -------------------------------------
  1. Under DOS LAN Service subdirectory C:\DLS, run INSTALL

  2. The screen display some description. If it's correct, move
     highlight to "The listed options are correct" item, then press
     ENTER.

  3. Move highlight to "Network Card", then press ENTER.

  4. Select "Change driver for network card." item, then press ENTER.

  5. Select "Network card not shown in list below..", then press ENTER.

  6. Insert the PRO110(B) driver diskette in floppy A, and input
     path A:\NDIS_20\DOS, then press ENTER.

  7. PRO110(B) driver is now installed on your computer, reboot
     your computer.


  Install driver on OS/2 LAN Server 4.0
  -------------------------------------
  1. In OS/2 window, Click the "MPTS" icon.

  2. The IBM logo will be displayed, then click "OK".

  3. Click "Install" button.

  4. Insert PRO110(B) driver diskette, type a:\ndis_20\os2, and click "OK".

  5. Click "OK" after the driver is installed into OS/2 system.

  6. Click "Configure" button.

  7. Select "LAN adapters and protocols" and then click "Configure" button.

  8. Highlight "PRO110(B) PCI Ethernet Adapter" and click "Add" button on the
     Network Adapters list.  Highlight "IBM OS/2 NETBIOS" and click "Add" on
     the Protocols list.  Select OK when complete.

  9. Exit the program, save the changes, and reboot the computer.

* Lantastic for DOS  *
**********************

  Install driver on Lantastic 6.0
  --------------------------------
  1. Run Lantastic INSTALL program to install Lantastic and answer all
     questions.
  
  2. Under "Select Network Adapter" dialog box, select "NDIS Support for
     Network Adapters".
  
  3. Insert this diskette into drive 'A'.

  4. Under "Enter NDIS driver directory" dialog box, type "A:\NDIS_20".

  5. After installation is completed, you should modify the PROTOCOL.INI file
     to specify the SLOT and SIA_Mode, which must be equal to the parameters
     specified to the network adapter.

  6. To start up the network, execute the STARTNET.BAT batch file.


  Install driver on Lantastic 7.0
  --------------------------------
  1. Run Lantastic INSTALL porgram to install Lantastic and prepare to answer
     questions.

  2. When prompted for choosing a network adapter card, select "NDIS Support
     for non-Artisoft adapter".

  3. Insert this diskette into drive 'A'.
 
  4. Type "A:\NDIS_20" under the "Enter NDIS driver directory" dialog box.

  5. (NDIS) string will appear in "Select Adapter" dialog box, then press OK.

  6. When "Summary" screen shows up, the "Network Adapter" line should be as
     follows. 

     (NDIS) "PRO110(B) PCI Fast Ethernet Adap..."

  7. Finish the rest installation steps.

  8. To start the network, execute the STARTNET.BAT batch file.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
