Windows for Workgroup Ver 3.1 network
This section describes the steps to install the NDIS2 driver in
a Windows For Workgroup environment.
1) GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1) DOS NDIS 2.01 driver
PLINK2.DOS v3.50
Please refer to NDIS2.TXT in the root directory
of the driver diskette for more information
about this driver.
1.2) OEMSETUP.INF
It is the driver information setup file for Windows For
Workgroup v3.1.
2) INSTALLATION
2.1) Windows for Workgroups Ver 3.1
a) Start Windows for Workgroups
b) Choose "Control Panel" in the "Program Manager-[Main]"
window.
c) Select the "Network" icon.
d) A "Network Settings" window is displayed. Under the
option,"Options", please choose the button, "Adapters".
e) There is a window to show all network adapters in use.
Select the button, "Add", to add other adapters.
f) A list of available adapters will be shown. If you can not
find the adapter you want, please select the option,
"Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter", to add a new
adapter type.
g) Insert the driver diskette #2 and enter the full
pathname of the directory where both OEMSETUP.INF
and PLINK2.DOS can be found. Choose "OK" if ready.
eg. a:\wfw31
Inside the box, "Compex ParaPort2 Pocket Ethernet Adapter"
appears highlighted Choose <OK> button.
h) In the Network Drivers dialog box,"Compex ParaPort2 Pocket
Ethernet Network Adapter" appears highlighted. Choose <OK>
button if you do not wish to view or modify the adapter
configuration.
If you wish to view or modify the adapter configuration refer
to B) DRIVER PARAMETERS in this text file.
j) Select the button, "OK", if all configuration settings
are correct.
k) A new adapter is added to the list of available network
adapters.
B) Driver Parameters

PRINTER PASS-THROUGH
--------------------
Enabling this parameter enables the ParaPort2 to print while accessing
the network.
Default is disabled.
- Highlight the "Compex ParaPort2 Pocket Ethernet Network Adapter"
in the "Network" window and click the "setup".
- Next click the "Advanced" option
The window will display the property "PRINTER PASS-THROUGH"
and the items below:
o value [ ]
o Not Present
- clicking "value" will enable the parameter and "Not Present"
will disable.
- Click <OK> to complete selection
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
