BIOS Recovery Process:
=====================

- Recovery process can be initiated by setting the recovery jumper labeled BIOS_RECV on the system Base Board.
- A BIOS recovery can be accomplished from one of the following devices:
USB Disk-On-Key and ATAPI-CD. ATAPI-CD image for recovery is created using El-Torito format image as per the published release notes.
- The recovery media must include the following image files provided in a BIOS release:
	1.	FVMAIN.FV
	2.	IFLASH32.exe
	3.	SHW4.cap
	4.	AUTOEXEC.BAT
	5. BEEP.COM

- The following steps illustrate the recovery process:
	1.	Insert a DOS bootable recovery media with all the required recovery image files.
	2.	Change the recovery mode jumper (BIOS_RECV) from normal operation to recovery operation. The details of the jumper can be found in the Board EPS.
	3.	The BIOS Post screen will appear and display the progress. BIOS continues to automatically boot to DOS from the media.
	4.	Autoexec.bat file is invoked and it will initiate the flash update (IFLASH32.EXE) with new capsule file (SHW4.CAP). The message will be displayed if flash update succeeds. If flash update fails, it will be notified to the user.
	5.	Once the flash update is completed, revert the recovery jumper back to normal operation.
	6.	Perform the power cycle.

The BIOS starts the recovery process by first loading and booting to the recovery image file (FVMAIN.FV) on the root directory of the inserted media. This process takes place before any video or console is available. Once the system boots to this recovery image file (FVMAIN.FV), the further process continues with the load and execution of the AUTOEXEC.BAT and the flash update application (IFLASH32.exe). IFLASH32.EXE requires the supporting BIOS Capsule image file (SHW4.CAP).
Any subsequent user messages are displayed on screen.
Once the recovery process is complete, it waits for a user to switch the recovery jumper back to normal operation and restart the system by doing power cycle.
