The escctest.c program is a simple loopback type program.  It is intended to
demonstrate the interface to the driver using the various deviceiocontrol
functions.  The program is intended to be run with the default ESCC switch
settings.  A SD to RD loopback is reccomended, but not required.  If a loopback 
is in place then when a key is pressed 1024 of that key will be transmitted in
a HDLC frame, it will be received and displayed with the added receive status
byte at the end.  The following keys have special actions:
[ESC] - exits the program
t  - flushes the transmit queue / resets transmiter
r  - flushes the receive queue / resets receiver
i  - issues the start timer command to the ESCC, should be followed by
     a status timer interrupt message (after the timer expires)
p  - issues the stop timer command to the ESCC.
h  - issues the HUNT command if the program was started in BISYNC mode

These keys ([ESC],t,r,i,p) will not send frames containing 1024 bytes.

The program now takes command line arguments to select which port to use, and
the operating mode (HDLC,ASYNC, or BISYNC) to run in.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
