README.TXT Driver File Contents (asyncpci_2007_06_29.zip)

This set of programs is used to change the maximum bitrate of a comport
(Fastcom:xxxx-PCI) "on the fly".
It consists of three parts, a vxd driver (clockset.vxd), a dll
that allows entry into the driver (fcputil.dll), and a command line program
that uses the dll and driver to change the clock setting of the fastcom card.

The fcset program can be used
to change the bitrate of a port by using:

usage:
fcset comport maxbaud

an example would be:
fcset 5 230400

This would set the board that includes COM5 to use 230400bps as its maximum bitrate. Keep in mind that all other ports on the board that gets changed will have their bitrates modified as well. Also the change will not affect the settings shown in the serialgt.exe program, and the change will not persist across boots (a shutdown/restart will reset the maximum bitrate to whatever is specified in the serialgt.exe program). To change the bitrate and have it persist across boots you must use the serialgt.exe program.

If you do not wish to use the fcset.exe example/utility, you can use the set_max_baud() function that the fcputil.dll exports in your code.
