BeOS Audio driver for CM8338/8738

This version can be installed on BeOS 4.5 and BeOS 5.

Installation
---------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Double click the cmpci.pkg.
2. Select "Standard Install" (default) and click "Begin".
3. Click "Continue" to accept the install location, the driver won't
   work properly on other directory.
4. If previous driver installed, just click "Continue Install" to replace
   old driver.
5. Wait for install finished.
6. Reboot.

Trouble Shooting
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: BeOS 4.5 and BeOS5 Pro (i.e., versions boot by itself) do not recognize
   the hardware. 
A: The independent booting OS need the PnP BIOS to setup PCI devices,
   some BIOSes only initialize on-board devices and leave others done by OS.
   You can set "PnP OS" to "No" to solve this problem.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
