________________________________________________________________________

Thank you for choosing the Canon IX-4015 color scanner or the IX-3010
grayscale scanner to use with your Microsoft Windows PC. These scanners
will provide you with the high image scanning quality you would expect
from Canon. The TWAIN driver that you have installed will allow your
IX-4015 or IX-3010 scanner to be compatible with all TWAIN compliant
Windows applications. The information in this readme contains information
about known problems and gives some suggestions on using particular
features.

TWAIN compliant Microsoft Windows applications
-----------------------------------------------
In order to use the IX-4015/IX-3010 TWAIN driver, you must be running
Microsoft Windows 3.1 or higher and have a TWAIN compliant application.
Please note that Microsoft Windows 3.0 cannot support F1 help files.

Since the TWAIN standard is relatively new, you may occassionaly experience
some minor problems caused by applications that are not fully TWAIN
compliant. Canon works closely with software manufacturers on compatibility
issues. Please contact your Canon representative for new information on
compatibility and your software manufacturer for software updates.

=========================================================================
1. TWAIN compliant Windows applications

Corel V5.0
After a scan is complete, the source dialog box is closed. The source dialog
box should remain open.

Dabbler V1.0
After scan is complete, dialog box asks user to clip or shrink image to fit page.
When user presses ok, Dabbler will hang.

Halo Imager V2.01
When selecting the Canon IX-3010 TWAIN source, the user will get "Unknown or
unspecified TWAIN error." Clicking on "OK" will show "Cannot open selected TWAIN
SOURCE." When the user attempts to redo these procedures, he will get the IX-3010
setup window. Recommended procedure: Upgrade to Halo Imager V2.2.

Image-In V3.2 Professional Pack
Using Microsoft Windows V3.0 with this software will show, "Can't load driver."
Recommended Procedure: Upgrade to Microsoft Windows V3.1.

If you scan a large image, Image-In may not scan and may not provide an error
message due to the system memory limitation. Select a smaller area to scan
or reduce the resolution. Since this error occurs most often with 24-bit color
scan, you can also try selecting a different image composition.

OMNIPage Professional V5.02
OMNIPage may have difficulty scanning from the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder)
when black and white image composition is selected and the setting "Scan until
Empty" is set.

Painter V2.0
Painter is very slow when a user selects one of the pull-down menus. The menu will
function properly once it appears.

PhotoFinish V 3.0
When moving the selection rectangle in PhotoFinish to move the right and left edges
of the containment rectangle, then selecting "Scan" will show an error.

PhotoShop V2.51
In the Black & White and dither scanning modes, the black and white areas are
reversed and the scan is the inverse of the original image. Click "Select All"
then "Inverse" to correct the scan.

PhotoStyler V2.0

PhotoStyler has difficulty scanning multiple pages with the ADF. Recommended procedure:
Scan one image at a time when using ADF.

2. Hardware Problem

When the hardware problem occurs, for example the paper jammed during scanning the zoomed
image, we suggest you to turn off and on the scanner, close the Twain driver, and acquire
the driver again.
