U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX
Windows Millennium Driver Installation
Windows ME provides a complete "Plug and Play" System that
automatically recognizes and configures U.S. Robotics 10/100
PCMCIA NIC TX.
Before installing the U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX adapter,
Windows me's PCMCIA service must be installed and enabled. This
service can be started in the Control Panel.
Driver Installation Steps for Windows ME:
1) Insert U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX in one of the PCMCIA
Slots and start Windows ME.
2) The "Add New Hardware Wizard" dialog box appears. Select
"Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)", then click
the "Next" button.
3) Select "Specify a locations".
4) Insert the U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX driver diskette in
the drive(e.g. X:). Type "X:\WINME" and click OK.
Notice: X: means the drive (Floppy or CD-ROM) containing the driver.
5) The installation process copies all the required files to the
hard disk. Please wait for the process to finish.
6) Click "Finish" to complete the installation process and reboot
the machine.
Note:
When Windows ME and the Network is up and running, it is not
recommended to remove the U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX adapter
from the PCMCIA slot without telling the system first. Before you
remove the adapter, please follow these steps:
1) Double click on the My Computer icon, and then double click on
the Control Panel icon.
2) Double click on the PCMCIA icon. The "PC Card (PCMCIA) Properties"
window appears.
3) Select "U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX" from
the list, and then click the Stop button.
4) Wait until the message box with the "You may safely remove the
device" message appears. Click OK.
5) Remove the U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX adapter from the PCMCIA slot.
If you do not follow these steps and just pull the adapter from
the PCMCIA slot, the system may hang and you have to reboot the
system.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
