U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX
MS-DOS Enabler Program
USROPEN.EXE is the U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX MS-DOS enabler program.
You have to run USROPEN.EXE to enable the U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX
before loading any of the MS-DOS drivers such as the DOS ODI driver, the
NDIS2 driver, or the packet driver.
To use U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX in a Netware Server environment, you also
have to run USROPEN.EXE under MS-DOS before startinging the Netware Server. If you
neglect this step, the U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX server driver will not work.
To use U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX in the Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, or the
Windows NT environment, there is no need to run USROPEN.EXE.
You can run USROPEN.EXE from the DOS prompt, or to install USROPEN.EXE as a
DOS device driver in CONFIG.SYS. To use USROPEN.EXE with the NDIS2 driver,
you have to install USROPEN.EXE as a DOS device driver. To use USROPEN.EXE
with other drivers, youcan choose the way that is more convenient.
The syntax to run USROPEN from the command line:
USROPEN [/IRQ=x] [/MEM=mm] [/IO=nnn] [/O] [/?]
Valid options:

This number must not be in use by any other device in the system.
mm = Hex memory location (e.g. C0, C8, D0, D8).
nnn = IO range (300, 320, 340, 360).
U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC TX requires 32 consecutive free
I/O port addresses.
/O (overwrites current socket settings).
/? Displays this screen.
The default value for IRQ is 3. The default value for IOP is
0x300.
Example: The following command enables U.S. Robotics 10/100 PCMCIA NIC
TX with IRQ 5 and I/O port address 300:
USROPEN /IRQ=5 /IO=300
If you installed EMM386.EXE in CONFIG.SYS, please exclude memory
