The Cardware utilities are supplied by Award and Ventura.

To use the PCMCIA Ethernet card with the Cardware
software requires no further intervention.

When the card is inserted it will beep.  Use CARDCHEK.EXE to check the card
has been configured correctly (look at the "PCMCIA Hardware" option).

If you have an older version (dated before 1/7/93) of Cardware, follow these

 You will need to run the 'PC Card Control for Windows' program under Windows.
 If you do not have Windows, edit the CARDWARE.INI file as indicated at the
 end of this section.

 Make sure the TE-210CT Ethernet card is inserted into one of your PC's
 sockets. Then -
  1) Run 'PC Card Control for Windows' from the Cardware sub-directory.
  2) Press 'OK' buttons on any card detect errors until you get to the main
  3) Select the 'Cards' option and choose 'Edit'.
  4) Select Socket A (or wherever the Ethernet Card is located) and press Enter

  If you already have a device in the Defined box called LE10, go to step

  5) Select 'New Device' under the 'Defined' devices box.
  6) Edit the new device to be named 'LE10'.
  7) Select IO range 1 Base(Hex) = 300, Length = 32 (16 bit).
  8) Do not alter Mem range 1 or 2.
  9) Select IRQ level 11. And OK to make changes.
 10) Back on the 'Edit card' screen, highlight the 'LE10' device in the
     defined devices box.
 11) Transfer the LE10 to the 'Associated' box with the 'Include' command.
 12) Select OK to complete editting and return to main screen.
 13) If the LE10 card is not graphically depicted, choose 'Card'
     and 'Reconfigure' the socket which contains the LE10 card.

 If the card is still not configured exit Windows and check the CARDWARE.INI
 file in the CARDWARE sub-directory has had the following changes made:

 1=Ethernet LE10, 13, 6, -1,APOLLO, LE10X

 Note that the 'NumberOfxxx' numbers may vary from those shown here.
 Ensure also that the 'resources' section in the CardWare.ini file has
 requested the system resources for the Gold Card.  This should include the
 line as follows:

 Then whenever you insert the TE-210CT Ethernet Card it will automatically be
 configured by the Award software.

 If you still have problems with CARDWARE software try replacing your
 CARDWARE.INI file with the one supplied on the TE-210CT Ethernet Card
 Drivers Disk.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
