            VIA VT6105 Rhine III Fast Ethernet Adapter Installation
                            for Windows NT 3.51/4.0

Introduction:
=============
  This document shows you how to setup the driver in Windows NT 3.51/4.0.

Installation:
=============
  Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the adapter
  is properly installed and configured.

For Windows NT 4.0:
-------------------
  1.  From the "My Computer" window, select "Control Panel" icon.

  2.  In the "Control Panel" window, select "Network" icon.

  3.  In the "Network", select "Adapters" page.

  4.  Click the "Add..." button, then Windows NT will display a list of all
      available drivers.

  5.  Click the "Have Disk..." button, for third-party adapters not included
      in the list.

  6.  Insert the driver diskette into drive A, and specify the path of the
      driver(i.e. A:\).

  7.  After Click the "OK" button, the Windows NT will attempt to locate
      the OEMSETUP.INF file in the specified path.

  8.  The "VIA Rhine Family Fast Ethernet Adapter Driver" will be found.
      Click the "OK" button, the Windows NT starts to copy the appropriate
      drivers to the user's hard disk.

  9.  After all the driver files have been copied to your system, a property
      dialog box appears in the screen. You can enable the special properties
      if you want to.

  10. Click the "Close" button, the drivers are now properly installed.

  11. The installation procedure will then proceed to the next steps.
      Please refer to your Windows NT installation guide for information
      on these steps.

  12. When the driver installation is completed, restart your PC.


For Windows NT 3.51:
--------------------
  1.  Open "Control Panel" -> "Networks", and choose the "Add Adapter" button,
      then the "Add Network Adapter" dialog box appears.

  2.  Select "<other> Requires disk from manufacturer" in the list of "Network
      Adapters", and then press "Enter".

  3.  Insert the driver diskette into drive A, and specify the path of the
      driver(i.e. A:\).

  4.  Select the correct Adapter, and start to copy the driver files to your
      system.

  5.  After all the driver files have been copied to your system, a property
      dialog box appears in the screen. You can enable the special properties
      if you want to.

  6.  When the driver installation is completed, restart your PC.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
