            VIA VT6105 Rhine III Fast Ethernet Adapter Installation
                               for Windows 2000

Introduction:
=============
  This document shows you how to setup the driver in Windows 2000.

Installation:
=============
  Before starting with the installation process, make sure that the
  adapter is properly installed and configured.

  1.  After starting Windows 2000, the windows will automatically detect
      new hardware, then the "Found New Hardware Wizard" window appears.

  2.  Insert the driver diskette into drive A, then click the "Next" button.

  3.  Select "Search for a suitable driver for my device(recommended)".
      then click the "Next" button.

  4.  Select "Specify a location:", then click the "Next" button.

  5.  Type A:\ into the box, then click the "OK" button.

  6.  The Windows 2000 will find the driver for this network adapter.
      Click the "Next" button to install the driver for this device.

  7.  Windows 2000 starts to copy the drivers to the user's hard disk.

  8.  When windows has finished installing the driver for this device.
      Click the "Finish" button.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
