Imation FireDIsk USB Driver ver 2.0 for Windows 98SE
====================================================

Using USB Interface
===================

1) Extract the content to a folder on your Harddisk(pls note the folder path so that you will know where the 
extracted files are being kept.

2) Run the "Autorun.exe: program from that folder and follow instructions.

3) Otherwise simply plug in your FireWire drive using the USB cable. Windows will report that it has detected a new
hardware and prompt you for the driver.

4) Note that if you are using USB 1.1 port on your PC, please direct window to the sub-folder "Usb1.1" within the 
folder that you have noted.

5) Note that if you are using USB 2.0 port on your PC, please direct window to the sub-folder "Usb2.0" within the 
folder that you have noted.

6) Windows will perform the necessary installation and prompt you to click "Finish" or "OK".

6) You may be prompted to re-start your computer, pls do so if required.

5) In your system's "My Computer", you should be able to see extra drive letter available.



Using FireWire Interface
========================

1) For Win ME, 2000 & XP, no driver is needed

2) For Win 98SE, please download the Firewire Patch from the following website:

	http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/downloads/contents/wurecommended/s_wufeatured/1394/license.asp

3) For Win 98 First Edition, Firewire device is not supported.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
