Attempting to use RemoteCapture with a model not in the above list will 
cause it to display an error message and fail to connect with the camera.


2.  CAMERAS FOR WHICH RemoteCapture CANNOT BE USED TO SET SHOOTING SETTINGS
================================================

A camera's basic shooting settings can be set in RemoteCapture's
 Shooting Window. 
The following camera model(s), however, do not support this feature. 
Alter the settings on these cameras directly on the camera itself. 

  - Canon EOS D30
  - Canon EOS-1D
  - Canon EOS D60


3.  CAMERAS FOR WHICH RemoteCapture CAN BE USED TO SET DETAILED SHOOTING
 SETTINGS

The following camera models can set basic shooting settings and detailed 
shooting settings in the RemoteCapture's Shooting Window.

The currently available shooting settings are described as bellow:

Basic Shooting Setting

For the cameras marked with * at No.1 Row, you can set Image Size and Image
 Quality setting.
For the cameras marked with * at No.2 Row, you can set Flash light setting.
For the cameras marked with * at No.3 Row, you can set Close up Mode.
For the cameras marked with * at No.4 Row, you can set White Balance setting.
For the cameras marked with * at No.5 Row, you can set Exposure compensation .
For the cameras marked with * at No.6 Row, you can set Zoom position.
For the cameras marked with * at No.7 Row, you can set Rotation angle
 before shooting.

Detailed Shooting Setting

For the cameras marked with * at No.8 Row, you can set Metering Mode .
For the cameras marked with * at No.9 Row, you can set ISO Speed .
For the cameras marked with * at No.10 Row, you can set Focusing Point.
For the cameras marked with * at No.11 Row, you can set Color Effect.
For the cameras marked with * at No.12 Row, you can set AF-assist light.
For the cameras marked with * at No.13 Row, you can set Av setting(but Open &
 Min only) and Tv setting.
For the cameras marked with * at No.14 Row, you can set AF lock mode.
For the cameras marked with * at No.15 Row, you can set Av and Tv setting.
For the cameras marked with * at No.16 Row, you can set Flash exposure
 compensation.
For the cameras marked with * at No.17 Row, you can set Flash quantity setting.
For the cameras marked with * at No.18 Row, you can set Color temperature
 setting.
For the cameras marked with * at No.19 Row, you can set Parameter setting.
For the cameras marked with * at No.20 Row, you can set Color matrix setting.


4. CAMERAS SUPPORTING THE VIEWFINDER DISPLAY 
================================================

The following Canon camera(s) support the Viewfinder Display 
in RemoteCapture's Shooting Window.

1) For the cameras marked with *1, the Viewfinder Display turns off 
during shooting. The Viewfinder Display can be continuously used for 
approximately 1 minute, you may not be able to use it when the temperature 
inside the camera is high.

2) For cameras marked with *2, depending on the combination of camera and 
computer you are using, use of the viewfinder display may cause operation 
to become unstable. In such a case, it is recommended to not use the 
viewfinder display. Moreover, when this symptom occurs, please toggle the 
camera's main switch OFF and then ON.


5. CAMERAS SUPPORTING IMAGE DISPLAY 
================================================

The following Canon camera(s) can display the image on their LCD monitor 
or output it to the Video Out terminal while connected to RemoteCapture. 

- Canon PowerShot G2
- Canon PowerShot S40
- Canon PowerShot S30
- Canon PowerShot G3
- Canon PowerShot S45
- Canon PowerShot A70
- Canon PowerShot A60
- Canon PowerShot S50
- Canon PowerShot G5

Note
 Please note that images in the camera's LCD monitor and Video Out output only 
reflect the optical zoom and not the digital zoom when the digital zoom is 
adjusted. 
 Please use the viewfinder display in the RemoteCapture Shooting window when 
setting the digital zoom. 


6. CAMERAS THAT PERFORM TEST SHOOTING 
================================================

The following Canon camera(s) can perform test shots in RemoteCapture's 
Shooting Window.

For cameras marked with *, even if [Vertical/Horizontal Autorotation] is 
set to [On] and photos are taken with the camera in the vertical position, 
the test photo results will always be shown in the horizontal position.


7. CAMERAS SUPPORTING SHOOTING WITH THE CAMERA BODY'S SHUTTER BUTTON 
================================================

The Release button in RemoteCapture's Shooting Window can be used to shoot 
an image. 
On the following Canon digital cameras, the camera's shutter button can also 
be used with RemoteCapture to shoot an image.

* For the cameras marked with an asterisk, the delay before the image is
 captured is slightly longer when the shutter button is used with 
RemoteCapture to shoot than when camera is used by itself. 


8.  SHOOTING WITH AN EXTERNAL FLASH MOUNTED ON A PowerShot G1/G2/Pro90 IS
================================================
The flash settings in the Shooting Settings tab are disabled when an external 
flash is mounted on a PowerShot G1/G2/Pro90 IS connected to RemoteCapture. 
Use the external flash's settings to shoot under these circumstances.


9.  IMAGE STABILIZER SETTINGS FOR THE PowerShot Pro90 IS
================================================
RemoteCapture always shoots with the image stabilizer function turned off 
even when the Image Stabilizer switch is set to On.


10. Windows XP and the Fast User Switching Feature
================================================
This program does not support the Fast User Switching feature in Windows XP. 
If you use the Fast User Switching feature while using this program, 
it may not operate correctly. 
To avoid problems, you are recommended to close this program before using 
Fast User Switching.


11. UNINSTALLING RemoteCapture 
================================================
RemoteCapture can be removed from the computer with the following 
procedures.

- Click the Windows [Start] menu and select [Programs], [Canon Utilities], 
[RemoteCapture] and [RemoteCapture Uninstall].

- The program will uninstall itself.


12. LIMITATIONS WHEN USED UNDER Windows 98SE 
=======================

When RemoteCapture is used under Windows98SE, following Canon cameras may fail 
to detect a disconnection with the camera.You can continue shooting again, 
if camera operation restores after pressing Disconnect button 
in the RemoteCapture Save window.

13. LIMITATIONS WHEN USED UNDER Windows XP/Me
=======================

(1) When RemoteCapture is used under WindowsXP/Me, operation of the following 
Canon cameras may become unstable while shooting with simultaneous saving 
images to CF.In this case, it is recommended to select Transfer to 
Computer Only in the General Preferences dialog.

- Canon EOS D30
- Canon EOS D60

(2) When using RemoteCapture with Windows XP, if images are stored in 
the CF and continuous shooting is attempted with [Size and Quality] selected 
as [RAW], operation of the following Canon cameras may become unstable. 
In such a case, it is recommended to set the initial setting dialog box 
to specify transfer to the computer only. 
Moreover, when this symptom occurs, please toggle the camera's main switch 
OFF and then ON.

- Canon EOS 10D
- Canon EOS Kiss Digital
- Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL
- Canon EOS 300D DIGITAL

(3) To ensure stability, it is recommended to first close the WIA [Scanner and 
Camera Wizard] screen and then to connect with RemoteCapture.


14. Caution when you are using EOS D30/D60
=======================

When you use C.Fn12-1 (Quality) of C. Fn-12: (SET button Function) of 
Custom Functions, do not change quality during loading of an image with 
RemoteCapture. The image might be loaded abnormally.


15. Caution when you are using EOS 10D/Kiss Digital/DIGITAL REBEL/300D DIGITAL
===========================================

(1) If a zoom lens, having an open aperture f-number that varies according to 
the focal length, is attached, do not use zoom operations while connected 
with RemoteCapture. In some cases the RemoteCapture aperture display may be 
incorrect or operation may become unstable. In such a case, exit and then 
restart RemoteCapture.

(2) While the camera is connected to RemoteCapture, it is recommended that 
camera settings be implemented from the RemoteCapture camera image setup 
screen. The RemoteCapture screen may be unable to track some types of 
complicated camera operations.

(3) If AEB shooting has been set with the camera, do not change camera
 settings after the first AEB photo has been taken. If settings are changed 
during AEB shooting, it may not be possible to take photos with the 
intended exposure.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
