Introduction ------------------------------------------------------ Thank you for using Canon Setup Utility. This product allows you to configure the printer settings for printing from a PictBridge-compliant digital camera. If you have selected to follow the printer settings in the camera settings, images will be printed according to the settings made in Setup Utility. 2. Product Contents -------------------------------------------------- This product includes the following items. Canon Setup Utility(hereafter called Setup Utility) It allows you to configure the printer settings for printing from a PictBridge-compliant digital camera. Readme This file. It provides important information about Setup Utility. 3. System Requirements ----------------------------------------------- This product requires the following system and environment. Software (OS) Microsoft Windows XP Microsoft Windows Me Microsoft Windows 2000 Microsoft Windows 98 Hardware Computer : Any computer that can run Windows (Intel Pentium processor or its compatible processor) Memory : 64 MB or more Hard disk : Free space of 15 MB or more is required at installation and free space of 10 MB or more is required during operation Display : High color (16 bits) or better; 800 x 600 or higher ====================================================================== Installation of Setup Utility ====================================================================== 1. Precautionary Information ----------------------------------------- Before installing Setup Utility, read the following precautionary information: - If you use Windows XP or Windows 2000, log on as the Computer administrator (member of the Administrators group for Windows 2000) in advance. - Close all applications running now. - If you want to reinstall after canceling the installation, wait for a while and try it again. An error message is appeared if you install it after the cancellation immediately. 2. Installing Setup Utility ------------------------------------------ The following shows how to install the program without using the CD-ROM that comes with the printer. If you are installing from the CD-ROM, follow the steps described in the printer manual. 1. Open the folder that contains this program. 2. Double click [Setup.exe]. The installer starts. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Note: - When finished, a message may prompt you to restart the computer, depending on your system environment. To complete installation properly, it is recommended that you restart the computer. 3. Uninstalling Setup Utility ---------------------------------------- To delete the unnecessary Setup Utility, follow the procedure below. 1. Select [Start]-[(All)Programs]-[Canon Utilities]- [Canon Setup Utility 2.1]-[Uninstall]. 2. When [Uninstall Confirmation] dialog box appears, click [Yes]. ====================================================================== Restrictions on Use of Setup Utility ====================================================================== The following restrictions are placed on the use of this product and printing by the printer. Pay attention to these restrictions before use. - Shut down all other application before starting Setup Utility. Save your work if necessary. - Do not disconnect the USB cable while Setup Utility is running. This causes the Setup Utility to shut down with an error message. Should this happen, make the settings again. - Do not turn off your printer while Setup Utility is running. This causes the Setup Utility to shut down with an error message. Should this happen, make the settings again. - Do not open the printer cover while Setup Utility is running, because it may affect your settings. If opened, enter the settings again. - Do not print while Setup Utility is running, because it may affect your settings. If printed, enter the settings again. - Setup Utility may not work correctly while Status Monitor is running. In this case, restart and establish Setup Utility again after closing the Status Monitor.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
