Introduction ------------------------------------------------------ This product is a utility program for Memory Cards used with Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), Windows 2000 and Windows 98 (afterwards called Windows). When using a Canon BJ printer with a card slot, this product manages files on the inserted Memory Card for Windows programs. In addition, image files on a Memory Card can be viewed via Easy-PhotoPrint, or saved on a computer easily by simply pressing a button on the printer's operation panel. 2. Product Contents -------------------------------------------------- This product includes the following components. Installer (Setup.exe) This program installs the Canon Memory Card Utility in your computer. USB Memory Card Driver Windows uses the driver to read and write data on the Memory Card in the card slot of the BJ printer (Windows Me and Windows 98 only). Memory Card Utility This utility program ejects a Memory Card in the card slot of the BJ printer, displays the contents of the Memory Card and starts the USB Memory Card Settings. Furthermore, this utility program opens image files on a Memory Card via Easy-PhotoPrint, or saves them on a computer. USB Memory Card Settings Sets the read/write (read-only/write-enabled) attribute of the BJ printer card slot. Readme (readme.txt) This file. It provides important information about the Canon Memory Card Utility. When you finish installation, select [Start]-[(All) Programs] -[Canon Utilities]-[PIXMA iP6000D Memory Card Utility]-[Readme] to display the contents of this file. 3. Precautionary Information ----------------------------------------- Before installing the Memory Card Utility, read the following precautionary information: - If you use Windows XP or Windows 2000, log on as the Computer administrator (member of the Administrators group for Windows 2000) in advance. - Terminate all currently running programs. - If an old version of the Memory Card Utility has already been installed, uninstall it first. 2. Installing the Memory Card Utility ------------------------------ The following shows how to install the program without using the CD-ROM that comes with the printer. If you are installing from the CD-ROM, follow the steps described in the printer manual. 1. Open the folder containing the installer. 2. Double-click [Setup.exe]. The installer starts. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Notes: - When finished, a message may prompt you to restart the computer, depending on your system environment. To complete installation properly, it is recommended that you restart the computer. - Install the Memory Card Utility from the CD-ROM or local hard disk, not from a network directly. 3. Uninstalling the Memory Card Utility --------------------------- - Windows XP/Windows 2000 In the [Control Panel], click [Add or Remove Programs (Add/Remove Programs)] and select [Canon PIXMA iP6000D Memory Card Utility]. For more information, refer to "To change or remove a program" in the "Help and Support"("Windows Help"). - Windows Me/Windows 98 In the [Control Panel], click [Add/Remove Programs] and select [Canon PIXMA iP6000D Memory Card Utility]. For more information, refer to "To remove a program from your computer" in the "Windows Help". ====================================================================== Restriction on Use of Memory Card Utility ====================================================================== The following restrictions are placed on the use of this product. Pay attention to these restrictions before use. Some of the features of this product may not operate properly when multiple supported BJ printers are connected to the computer. Avoid connecting multiple BJ printers to the computer. In the following cases, it may take several seconds to recognize the removable drive. Wait a while without ejecting the Memory Card or disconnecting the USB cable or turning off the printer. - When the BJ printer is connected to the computer during direct printing. Easy-PhotoPrint 3.0.0 or higher must be installed on your computer in order to start the program from the operation panel. While the access lamp is flashing (memory card is being accessed), do not perform the following operations. - Remove the memory card. - Disconnect the USB cable. - Turn the printer off. If many or large images are saved on the memory card, it may take some time to start Easy-PhotoPrint or save images using the operation panel. In such cases, wait a while until the "Loading..." message disappears.Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
