System Requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------- This software requires the following system configuration: Operating System Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (English) Note: - The MP Drivers were created especially for Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. They do not operate on other Windows versions. - We recommend that you keep your system up to date with Windows Update. Hardware Computer: Personal computer on which Windows XP Professional x64 Edition is installed Memory: Must operate normally under the operating system used. Hard drive: At least 130 MB free space prior to installing driver Interface: USB interface Printer cable: USB cable Screen: Monitor with a resolution of 800x600 or higher 2. Deleting the MP Drivers -------------------------------------------------------------------- Delete the unnecessary MP Drivers according to the following procedure: 1. From the [Start] menu, select [All programs], and then select [Canon MP130]. 2. Click [Uninstall]. 3. When the uninstall screen appears, click [Perform]. 4. When the confirmation message appears, click [Yes]. ==================================================================== General Notes: ==================================================================== 1. Important -------------------------------------------------------------------- - Some USB hubs may experience problems with MP Drivers. If this happens, connect the device directly to the USB port on the PC, or change the USB port that the device is connected to. - When you connect the device to your PC, the drive that relates to the Card Reader may not appear in Windows Explorer. This behavior can occur if you map a network drive to the next available drive letter after the local volumes and CD-ROM drives have been assigned drive letters. If you experience this problem, you should assign the network drive to any other drive letters and reboot your PC. - When working with very large files, Windows may run low on virtual memory and not function properly. In this case, please refer to your Windows documentation on how to increase your virtual memory setting. - For details on functions related to Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, see the corresponding user's manual. - For information on application software that can be used on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, contact the corresponding manufacturer. 2. Printing -------------------------------------------------------------------- - With certain applications, the [Copies] setting is non-effective when setting is attempted from the printer driver. In such cases, specify the setting in the applications' [Print] dialog box. - If the selected [Language] in the [About] dialog box does not match the operating system interface language, the driver screen may not be displayed properly. - Do not change the [Advanced] tab items of the printer properties. If you change any of the items, you will not be able use the following functions correctly. Also, if [Output to File] is selected in the [Print] dialog box of the application software and with applications that prohibit EMF spooling, such as Adobe PhotoShop LE and MS Photo Editor, the following functions will not operate. - [Preview before printing] on the [Main] tab - [Reduce spool data size] in the [Print Options] dialog box - [Page Layout Printing], [Poster Printing], [Booklet Printing], [Duplex Printing], [Print from Last Page], and [Collate] on the [Page Setup] tab - Since the resolution in the preview display differs from the printing resolution, text and lines in the preview display may appear different from the actual print result. - In some applications, the printing is divided into multiple jobs. To prohibit printing, delete all divided jobs. 3. Scanning -------------------------------------------------------------------- - Only run one application at a time that is actively linked to ScanGear. Do not open more than one application that is actively linked to ScanGear. Also, do not open ScanGear more than once to acquire an image in the same application. - When scanning large images at high resolutions, the progress bar may stop at 0% or your computer may stop responding, depending on the size of the file and the limitations of the applications being used. If this happens, cancel the action (for example by clicking the progress bar's [Cancel] button), and then increase the virtual memory available and perform the scan again. Selecting smaller area at lower resolutions may also resolve the problem. Also, you can scan and save the image from the MP Navigator and import resulting file into your application. - When you preview or scan an image with a relatively uniform background, the Auto Tone function may change its coloring. If this occurs, reset the Auto Tone. ____________________________________________________________________ Microsoft and Windows are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the U.S. and other countries.
