1. General Notes

o In order to scan in Windows 2000 by simply pressing the machine's "Start" 
  key, please make sure that the Client for Microsoft Networks is installed.
  You can check whether the Client for Microsoft Networks is installed by looking 
  at the Local Area Connection Properties (right click) in the Properties 
  dialog (right-click) of the My Network Places icon on the Desktop. If the Client 
  for Microsoft Networks is checked, it is installed.


2. Application Notes

o The automatic file attachment function supports the following programs.

  QUALCOMM Eudora
  Microsoft Outlook Express
  Microsoft Outlook
  Netscape Messenger
  Windows Mail

  If you are using a program not shown above, select the "None (Attach Manually)" 
  option in the Settings for E-Mail program dialog and attach files manually 
  according to that program's regular procedures.

o If Eudora does not start even though it has been set as the default mailer for 
  "Mail," then start Eudora and make the settings again.

o You may not be able to link page layout applications such as Microsoft 
  Publisher and Adobe PageMaker to a button in MF Toolbox. These applications 
  require that you scan or insert an image from within the application itself.

o If a button in MF Toolbox is clicked, and the registered application for this 
  button is already running or is active, some applications may fail to properly 
  acquire the scan. In this case, please exit the application before clicking 
  the associated button in MF Toolbox again.

o Cannot perform thumbnail view in Acrobat Reader 4.0 for PDF files made by 
  MF Toolbox. Use Acrobat Reader 5.0 or later to display thumbnail views.

o When you add the scanned image to the last page of an existing PDF file 
  that was created with the MF Toolbox, save the file including the scanned 
  image added as a new file.
