Before You Get Started
======================================================================

1. Introduction ------------------------------------------------------

  Thank you for using Setup Utility.
  Setup Utility allows you to configure the settings for wireless
  printing via infrared or Bluetooth connection.
  You can also make settings for Bluetooth units connected to a
  printer.

2. Product Contents --------------------------------------------------

  This product includes the following items.

  Setup Utility
    This software allows you to configure your printer and 
    Bluetooth unit settings for printing via infrared and Bluetooth
    communication.

  Readme
    This file.  It provides important information about Setup Utility.

3. System Requirements -----------------------------------------------

  This product requires the following system and environment.

  Software (OS)
    Microsoft Windows XP 
    Microsoft Windows Me 
    Microsoft Windows 2000
    Microsoft Windows 98 

  Hardware
    Computer  : Windows computer
                (Intel Pentium processor or its compatible processor)
    Memory    : 64 MB or more
    Hard disk : Free space of 40 MB or more is required at
                installation and free space of 10 MB or more is
                required during operation
    Display   : 256 colors or higher; 800 x 600 or higher 
    Printer   : i80

Installation of Setup Utility
======================================================================

1. Precautionary Information -----------------------------------------

  Before installing Setup Utility, read the following precautionary
  information:
   - If you use Windows XP or Windows 2000, log on as the member of
     the Administrators group in advance.
   - Close all applications running now.
   - If you want to reinstall after canceling the installation, wait
     for a while and try it again. An error message is appeared if you
     install it after the cancellation immediately.

2. Installing Setup Utility ------------------------------------------

  To install the Setup Utility from the CD-ROM, proceed to (1).
  To install the downloaded Setup Utility, proceed to (2).

(1) Installing from the CD-ROM
  Setup Utility is automatically installed when the printer driver is
  installed. Refer to the following procedure when you want to install
  Setup Utility alone.

  1. Set the Setup Software CD-ROM.

  2. Select [Setup Utility] from the installation screen of the
     printer driver and click [Install].

  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

(2) Using the Installer
 
  1. Open the folder containing the installer.

  2. Double-click [Setup.exe].
     The installer starts.

     Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

     Notes:
      - When finished, a message may prompt you to reboot the
        computer, depending on your system environment.
        To complete installation properly, it is recommended that
        you reboot the computer.
      - Install the Setup Utility from the CD-ROM or local hard disk,
        not from a network directly.

3. Uninstalling Setup Utility ----------------------------------------

  To uninstall Setup Utility, follow the procedure below.

 - Using uninstaller

  1. From the [Start] menu, select [Programs] - [Canon Utilities] -
     [i80 Setup Utility] - [Uninstall].

  2. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Using Setup Utility
======================================================================

1. Starting Setup Utility --------------------------------------------

  -  Double click the Setup Utility's shortcut icon on the desktop
     window.
  -  From the [Start] menu, select [Programs] - [Canon Utilities] - 
     [i80 Setup Utility] - [i80 Setup Utility].
     Main screen appears.

2. Making the Photo Print Settings -----------------------------------

  1. Click [Change...] button in [Photo Print Settings] from the main
     screen.
     [Photo Printing] dialog box appears.

  2. Set the print setting on the [Photo Printing] dialog box as
     required.
     The preview changes when the settings are changed.

  3. Click [Send] button.
     The updated settings are sent to the printer.

3. Making the Document Print Settings --------------------------------

  1. Click [Change...] button in [Document Print Settings] from the
     main screen.
     [Document Printing] dialog box appears.

  2. Set the print setting on the [Document Printing] dialog box as
     required.
     The preview changes when the settings are changed.

  3. Click [Send] button.
     The updated settings are sent to the printer.

4. Making the Bluetooth Settings -------------------------------------

  1. Click [Change...] button in [Bluetooth Settings] from the main
     screen.
     [Bluetooth] dialog box appears.

  2. Set the print setting on the [Bluetooth] dialog box as required.

  3. Click [Send] button.
     The updated settings are sent to the printer.
     
5. Exiting Setup Utility ---------------------------------------------

  1. Click the [Close] button on the main screen or click the exit
     button on the top right corner of the window.

Restrictions on Use of Setup Utility
======================================================================

  The following restrictions are placed on the use of this product
  and printing by the printer. Pay attention to these restrictions
  before use.

   - Shut down all other application before starting Setup Utility.
     Save your work if necessary.

   - Do not disconnect the USB cable while Setup Utility is running.
     This causes the Setup Utility to shut down with an error message.
     Should this happen, make the settings again.

   - Do not turn off your printer while Setup Utility is running.
     This causes the Setup Utility to shut down with an error message.
     Should this happen, make the settings again.

   - Do not open the printer cover while Setup Utility is running,
     because it may affect your settings. If opened, enter the
     settings again.

   - Do not print while Setup Utility is running, because it may
     affect your settings. If printed, enter the settings again.

   - Setup Utility may not work correctly while Status Monitor is 
     running. In this case, restart and establish Setup Utility again
     after closing the Status Monitor.
