The ISA-Bus PowerNIC adapters are fully NE2000 compatible. Use the NE2000
driver bundled with Open System 5.

METHOD 1 --
 1. From the 'SINGLE USER MODE', enter the root password in order to
    have 'System Maintenance Mode'.

 2. Enter 'netconfig' after '#'.

 3. The 'Network Configuration Manager' window will appear, choose 'Hardware'
    and select 'Add new LAN adapter'.

 4. When the 'Add new LAN adapter' window appears, select 'NOVELL NE2000' and
    [ENTER] to continue.

 5. The 'Search for network adapter' box will be displayed. Choose 'no'.

 6. After the "Network Driver Configuration" window appears, enter the I/O
    address and the interrupt vector and press 'ok'.

 7. In the "Add protocol" window, there are two items: "SCO IPX/SPX" or
    "SCO TCP/IP". Choose "SCO TCP/IP".

 8. After the "SCO TCP/IP configuration" window appears, enter the proper
    values for "Local Host name", "IP address", "Netmask", and so on.

 9. When the message box shows "the following products were successfully
    configured into the system", installation is done. Exit the "Network
    Driver Configuration" window.

10. After the 'Question' box appears, push the OK button to re-link the Kernel.

11. Enter 'haltsys' to reboot the UNIX system.


METHOD 2 --
1. From the 'X window' mode, click 'System Adaministration' icon.

2. In the 'System Adaministration' window, choose 'Networks'.

3. A window will appear, choose 'Network Configuration Manager'.

4. After the 'Network Configuration Manager' window appears, the installation
   procedure is the same as Method 1, beginning at Step 3.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
