INSTALLATION
============

The Ethernet Card has been designed to be totally compatible with a
conventional NE2000 Ethernet board. To use it with Microsoft LAN Manager,
follow the instructions in your Microsoft manual, specifying NE2000
compatible when asked for a Network Adaptor board.

When you have done this, you may need to enable the PCMCIA port and the
Ethernet Card. If your portable does not automatically detect and
enable PCMCIA cards, copy ECARD.EXE to your hard disk and add the line:

                   "device=c:\path\ecard.exe"

to your CONFIG.SYS FILE, before the lines added by LAN MANAGER.

                         ***********************

Alternatively, you can use the drivers which are supplied on this disk. To
do this, follow the instructions below:

1. Begin installation of LAN Manager 2.0 using "setup". At the "Import
    Network Drivers" screen choose YES.

2.  Insert your Drivers Diskette.

3. Select "Grey Cell Ethernet Card GCS2000" from the list of drivers.

4.  Continue with the installation.

5. At the Network Drivers menu, select "Grey Cell Ethernet Card
    GCS2000" from the list of drivers to install.

6.  Continue with the installation.

7. When the installation is complete, you may need to amend your CONFIG.SYS
    to enable the Ethernet PC card. If your CONFIG.SYS does not contain
    software to load socket and card services, as well as a card enabler,
    then copy the file ECARD.EXE to your hard disc and add the line

                   "device=c:\path\ecard.exe"

    before the lines added by LAN MANAGER.

    If your PC contains PCMCIA software then check that it precedes the lines
    added by the LAN MANAGER installation..

8. Make sure the PROTOCOL.INI file created contains the same IOBASE, and
    INTERRUPT numbers as specified by ECARD.

9.  Reboot the PC.

Note: If you are using an extended memory manager and the ECARD enabler,
      you may need to explicitly exclude memory area D800-D8FF, or
      other 4 Kbyte memory space defined by /MEM parameter.
