  This document contains the installation guide for the Microsoft
  Windows NT 3.5 & 3.51 Operating System.

  It is recommented to print the instruction out on a printer before
  installation.  For the best results, open this document in Windows
  Write, Microsoft Word, or another word processing application, select
  the entire document and format the text in 10 point Courier before
  printing.

  3 additional drivers are required to enable the 3400 Series Ethernet and
  fax-modem card under Windows NT.

  NTECARD.SYS   The enabler program.
  GCS3000.SYS   The Ethernet driver program.
  SERIAL.SYS    The COM port program.

Follow the steps below to ensure the 3400 Series PCMCIA card works in your system.

(1)  Start Windows NT with the 3400 Series Card inserted.

(2)  Go into Main, Control Panel and Network

(3)  Select Add Adapter.

(4)  Choose <Other> Requires disk from manufacturer.

(5)  Type in the path A:\WINNT.

(6)  Select Grey Cell 3400 Fax/Modem/Ethernet Card.

(7)  Then choose the IRQ        (Valid, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15)
		     IO         (Valid, 300, 320, 340, 360)
		     COM        (Valid, 2, 3, 4)
		     MEM        (Valid, any location)

NOTE:  Please make a note of IRQ and COM Port Settings, as you will need
       this information later.

(8)  Select Bus Type as PCMCIA and leave Bus Number the same.

(9)  Choose OK in Network and Select Do Not Restart.

(10) Select Ports within Control Panel and choose Add.

(11) Select the COM Port which you have assigned in step 7.

(12) Then BASE should be set to the correct number using the table below.
      
	COM 2 = BASE 2F8
	COM 3 = BASE 3E8
	COM 4 = BASE 2E8

(13) Choose IRQ to match the one given in step 7.

(14) Select OK.

(15) Configure your Network using the Windows NT manual.

(16) Choose File, Shutdown & Restart.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
