--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Driver Kit Files
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The driver kit consists of the following 3 files :

	CWAWDM SYS 59,488 08-10-99 4:10a
	CWAWDM INF 15,138 08-10-99 4:10a
	PW4010 CAT 25 08-10-99 4:10a

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Installing Crystal Audio Drivers
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1. By default, the Microsoft/Intel driver gets installed. It is named
Intel ® 82801AA AC'97 Audio Controller. Remove this entry from the
Sound, Video, and Game Controllers section in device manager.

    2. Remove the corresponding Intel/Microsoft inf/pnp file in
c:\winnt\inf. The names of these files are wdma_int.inf and
wdma_int.pnf. It is, of course, optional that these get removed.
But Plug and Play life will be easier if they are removed.

    3. Restart. Plug and Play will occur again. You will be prompted
	for a driver.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Uninstalling/Re-Installing Crystal Audio Drivers
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    1. Open Device Manager.

    2. Remove Crystal WDM Audio Codec entry in the Sound, Video, and Game
Controllers section. The game controller is not part of the audio
driver. It is a separate device altogether.
Crystal is not the owner of the game controller on this audio solution.

    3. Delete Crystal INF and PNF in c:\winnt\inf. It will likely be
	called oem0.inf and oem.pnf.

    4. Restart your PC for Plug and Play to happen again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Known Problems and Limitations
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. Stop button causes loud pops while playing Midi thru Media Player,
     when Headphone control is used.

  2. Playing any wave thru Dsound application causes a loud pop when hit on
     Play button.

  3. After Remove/Refresh, no software wavetable audio after a reboot.

  4. Play and Stop button causes loud pops while playing wave thru Media player.

  5. There may be some feed back noise when Microphone boost is enabled.

  6. A reboot may be required to play MIDI audio after the initial installation
     of the driver.

  7. Panning Headphone and Wave balance in the Output mixer while playing
     Wave/CD/Line In causes a pop.

  Working as Intended:
  ====================

  1. Headphone does not mute the audio when the headphone slider is adjusted
     to minimum value.

  2. SW Synth slider jumps to max value, when Synth state is switched from
     Stop to Play or viceversa.

  3. Master Volume levels are quite low when compared to Headphone volume
     levels.

  4. S/P DIF OUT data trasmission is limited to only digital audio.

  5. Can't enable Fastforward and Rewind Controls in the Media Player.

  6. When resuming from sw wavetable playback, midi is paused.

  7. Digital CD Audio is recorded by loopback mux selection.

  8. Mono Mix volume is low.

  9. Some Dos games do not run in Dos Box. This support is provided by
     Microsoft legacy Audio emulator.

 10. Change in the output format has no effect on DSound files.
