Release Notes ShareScan V2.1 © Copyright 1992-1997 Simplify Development Corporation. This document contains release notes for ShareScan V2.1. Installation Program ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. The installation program copies these files to your Windows directory: sharescn.ini pixel.dll pixel.ini 2. The installation program creates a pixtran sub-directory under your Windows directory and places the ISIS driver files needed for scanning in this directory. Things you should know ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. ShareScan will only work with the 16-bit version of Lotus Notes Mail. 2. If you are using Alcom's LanFax V3.0, after faxing LanFax returns control to Program Manager instead of back to ShareScan. Use Alt-TAB to get back to the main ShareScan window. 3. In Scanner Setting there are three scan types: Text, Text and Picture, and Picture. Text and Picture type works exactly like Text but is listed to simplify the choice when a page has both text and pictures. 4. When using ShareScan with cc:Mail it is best to keep cc:Mail closed. If it is open and you Scan and E-Mail with ShareScan, control is not properly returned to the ShareScan main window. If this happens, use Alt-TAB to make ShareScan the current window. Known Problems and Solutions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. If you are using Simplify's Fax interface with RightFAX then you must have at least Service Pack 2 installed on your RightFAX NT server. If you don't have Service Pack 3 installed then you must copy the files G3TOTIFF.DLL and VIC32.DLL from the sharescn/misc directory to each of the worksrv? directories on your RightFAX NT server. 2. If you are using RightFAX's Print driver interface then you must have the PowerBar running to use RightFAX with ShareScan. 3. ShareScan only works with the Optus FACSys printer driver - not via DDE. 4. When using the GP200, Linked paper sizes can only be scanned from the flatbed.Download Driver Pack
