    Install DOS Client 32 Driver During Client 32 Installation
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    1.  Shut down the computer and install the FA330/FA331 adapter
        into the system.

    2.  At MS-DOS prompt, start the Client 32 installation by executing
        the "INSTALL" command.

    3.  Follow the installation procedure of Novell NetWare Client 32.

    4.  In "Select a LAN Driver Type" window, select "32-bit" LAN driver.

    5.  In "32-Bit Network Board Drivers" window, select "USER SPECIFIED
        32-BIT DRIVER".

    6.  In "Insert The Driver Disk" window, input the drive/directory
        path to the FA33X.LAN driver and FA33X.LDI files on the floppy disk.

          eg. A:\NETWARE\CLIENT32

    7.  Select "NETGEAR FA330/FA331 PCI Adapter Driver".  Select the
        desired parameters, eg. NetworkMedia, Frame Type, Node Address,
        and continue with the installation procedure.

        Note: The LineSpeed default is Auto-negotiation and the other
              options are

              LineSpeed=1             (Auto-negotiation)
              LineSpeed=2 FDUP=1      (10Mbps full-duplex)
              LineSpeed=2 FDUP=2      (10Mbps half-duplex)
              LineSpeed=3 FDUP=1      (100Mbps full-duplex)
              LineSpeed=3 FDUP=2      (100Mbps half-duplex)

    8.  After the installation, a STARTNET.BAT batch file will be created.
        Please check the STARTNET.BAT file for the right parameters.


    Install Windows 3.1X Client 32 Driver During Client 32 Installation
    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    1.  In Microsoft Windows environment, run "SETUP" command to start
        Client 32 installation.

    2.  In "ODI Driver Selection" window, select "32 bit" mode and "Other
        Boards".

    3.  Enter the path and filename of the ODI driver in "ODI Driver Path"
        window.  For exmaple, C:\NETWARE\CLIENT32\FA33X.LAN.

    4.  Follow the installation setps of Novell NetWare Client 32.

    5.  After the installation, a STARTNET.BAT batch file will be created.
        Please check the STARTNET.BAT file contains the right parameters.


  Install Client 32 Driver After Novell NetWare Client 32 for
            DOS/Windows 3.1x is already installed
  -----------------------------------------------------------
  Copy the LAN driver, FA33X.LAN, and the LDI file, FA33X.LDI, from the
  \CLIENT32 directory to the \Novell\Client32 directory, and use a text
  editor to edit the STARTNET.BAT file directly.

    Parameters supported by the FA33X.LAN driver
    --------------------------------------------

    SLOT       1  - Forces the driver to search for the specified board

    LineSpeed     - Select connection type of the NETGEAR FA330/FA331 PCI
                    Adapter card.

                    = 1   Auto-Negotiation
                    = 2   Line speed = 10
                    = 3   Line speed = 100

    FDUP          - Select the duplex mode of the adapter card.  This
                    parameter works only when LineSpeed is not set to Auto-
                    Negotiation.

                    = 1   Full duplex on
                    = 2   Full duplex off

    > LOAD C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\FA33X.LAN LineSpeed=2 FDUP=1


    TroubleShooting
    ---------------
    If you experience the "Command Line Parameter for FA33X" warning
    message when STARTNET.BAT is executed, provide the slot number
    at the command line in STARTNET.BAT as illustrated below.

    > LOAD C:\NOVELL\CLIENT32\FA33X.LAN FRAME=ETHERNET_802.3 SLOT=1

    SLOT must be the correct value as found by the driver.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
