This README file explains the installation procedure for
Windows 95


2.   Changing COM ports



To install the LogiMedia software on your system please
perform the following procedure.

1.  Insert the LogiMedia disk into one of your floppy drives
2.  Open the Control Panel folder.
3.  Launch the Add New Hardware applet.
4.  Click Next to begin installing new hardware.
5.  To the question Do you want Windows to search for your
    new hardware answer No and click Next.
6.  Select Sound, video and game controllers or Other Devices
    in the Hardware types list and click Next.
7.  Click the Have Disk... button.
8.  Select the drive where the LogiMedia disk is and click OK.
9.  The Models list should show Logitech Remote Control. 
    Make sure it is selected and click Next.
10. Click Finish. Windows will then install the LogiMedia

2.   Changing COM ports

To change the COM port LogiMedia is attached to you need to
modify the Windows 95 registry. Please perform the following

1. Quit all your remote control applications.
2. Open the registry by launching Regedit.exe.
3. Goto the following path:
4. Open the PortSearchOrder entry and change it to COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4.
5. Close Regedit.
6. Restart your machine.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
