 1. Basic Description

 2. Additional notes on 3wupdate.exe
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

3wupdate.exe will also be installed to the c:\Program Files\AMCC\3wupdate folder by default. 3DM2_CLI-Windows-x86-9.5.0.1.exe assumes that are are running it from the 9.5.0.1 CD. Since you are not running it from the CD (you downloaded it from the web site), you will see an error message regarding prom0008.img. Prom0008.img is the firmware image for the 9690SA.

That firmware image file is bundled with this file in the .zip, and should be manually copied to the c:\Program Files\AMCC\3wupdate folder. Once you have done this, you can run 3wupdate.exe to update your Windows driver and firmware.

After running 3wupdate.exe, if you upgraded the firmware you will need to run Update9690 before rebooting. See 3ware KB article 15310 http://www.3ware.com/KB/article.aspx?id=15310 regarding running update9690.
