1. INSTALLATION DISKETTE
------------------------

This diskette contains all the files required to install the Touch
Screen Software for DOS on your host computer. This software provides
access to the features of your DTF touch screen. Some of the features
of the Touch Screen software include Microsoft Mouse emulation,
keyboard emulation via TouchSurround and driver configuration. See
your User's Reference manual for more information.

This disk contains the following files:

INSTALL.EXE - General purpose installation utility
INSTALL.DAT - Script used by INSTALL.EXE to define this installation
DISK.ID - Disk identification file for the INSTALL utility
SC3.RED - Compressed Touch Screen Drivers
README.TXT - This file

2. HOW TO INSTALL/UPGRADE THE TOUCH SCREEN DRIVER AND UTILITIES
---------------------------------------------------------------

To install the Touch Screen software onto your computer, you must have DOS
running on the computer, and you must have a floppy disk drive connected.
Follow these steps:

1. Insert the DTF SC3 Touch Drivers and Utilities for DOS diskette
   into drive A.

2. At the DOS prompt, type:

        a:install

   The software installation program appears.

NOTE: During installation, you can exit any time by pressing the ESC
   key on your keyboard.

3. As the installation proceeds, answer the questions that appear on your
   screen:

   a) On which disk drive do you wish to install the DTF SC3
software? Drive C is the default.
   b) Which serial port is the controller connected to? The default
      is COM1.
   c) Press ESC key to quit and any other key to continue and modify the
      AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files.

IMPORTANT: Before you reboot your computer, remove the installation
diskette from the floppy drive. Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to reboot your
computer.

NOTE: When the Touch Screen software is installed, the configuration
parameters are set according to your desired configuration and you should
not need to change them. However, if you want to customize your setup,
consult your User's Reference for options.

NOTE: An entry to load the touch screen driver is appended to the end of
the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. Check that the touch screen driver is invoked
before any calls that may not return control to the AUTOEXEC.BAT file.

The following files will be placed in the \TOUCH\DOX directory:

SC3DOX.EXE - DOS TSR touch screen driver
TOUCHCFG.EXE - configuration utility
TOUCH.INI - Basic configuration file.
UNINSTAL.EXE - Uninstallation utility.
DISK.ID - Uninstallation disk ID.
INSTALL.DAT - Uninstallation script.
README.TXT - This file

3. CONCURRENT MOUSE AND TOUCH SCREEN OPERATION
----------------------------------------------

To use a mouse at the same time as the touch screen, load the mouse
driver in AUTOEXEC.BAT before loading SC3DOX.EXE.

4. RECALIBRATING THE TOUCH SCREEN
---------------------------------

Before you can use the touch screen it must be calibrated. Calibration
ensures the touch screen is oriented and aligned with your display. This
is especially important when using CRT displays as the size of the video
display varies with the video adapter card and the current video mode.

The TOUCHCFG.EXE utility prompts you to touch the calibration points on
the display and then saves this data. Every time you reboot the computer,
this data is automatically read in by the touch screen driver, and used
to adjust the touch screen coordinates for proper cursor tracking.

All other parameters can be adjusted using the same utility. Only parameter
not supported by this utility is NOBOUNDS option which can be activated by
loading the driver with /NOBOUNDS option (e.g. SC3DOX /NOBOUNDS).

5. UNINSTALLING THE TOUCH SCREEN DRIVER SOFTWARE
------------------------------------------------

To uninstall the driver run UNINSTAL.EXE from driver home directory. It
should erase driver files and update AUTOEXEC file for you.

The Touch Screen software can be also uninstalled simply by deleting the
\TOUCH\DOX directory, and then removing from AUTOEXEC.BAT any lines which
reference SC3DOX.EXE.

Reboot the machine after uninstallation.
