Installation of Secure TFTP Server:
=====================================

Windows 2000 
	 1. From the Start menu, select Settings => Control Panel.
	 2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs button.
	 3. Click the Add New Programs button and then the CD Or Floppy button.  
	 4. In the Open box on the Run Installation Program page, type the path
            where the following file is located <cd drive>\TFTP\Win2K\EqmTFTPS.msi. 
	 5. On the EqmTFTPS Setup page, click the Install button.
	 6. At the end of the installation process, click Finish.
	 7. On the Add/Remove Program page, click Close.
	 8. Continue with the Configuration section.

Windows XP
	 1. From the Start menu, select Settings => Control Panel.
	 2. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs button.
	 3. Click the Add New Programs button and then the CD Or Floppy button.  
	 4. In the Open box on the Run Installation Program page, type the path
	    where the following file is located <cd drive>\TFTP\WinXP\EqmTFTPS.msi. 
	 5. On the EqmTFTPS Setup page, click the Install button.
	 6. At the end of the installation process, click Finish.
	 7. On the Add/Remove Program page, click Close.
	 8. Continue with the Configuration section.


Configuring TFTP Server
=======================

1. Access the Secure TFTP Service page.
	 On Windows 2000 or XP systems, from the Start menu, select Run,
	 type eqmtftpc,then click OK.
	
2. You may either use the default settings for the directory and the get/put access
   rights as indicated,or you may customize the settings to allow clients to access
   other directories.  The path to the directory where the firmware image resides
   must be listed in order to perform the firmware upgrade successfully.

To use the default settings, click the Use Default Settings radio button, then
click Exit.

To customize settings, click the Customize radio button.
	a. To add directories, click the Add button.
		  i. Type the pathname of the directory.
			- or -
		     Click the Browse button, select a directory, then click OK.
		 ii. To enable Get access to that directory, click the GET Access
                     checkbox.
		iii. To enable Put access to that directory, click the PUT Access
                     checkbox.
		 iv. Click OK.  The added directory appears in the list.	
	b. To change an existing entry in the directory list, select the directory
           name in the Path column.
		  i. To delete the entry, click the Remove button, then click Exit.
		 ii. To modify an entry's access rights, click the appropriate
                     checkbox in the Get and Put columns.  To modify an entry's
                     pathname, click the Modify button, then type the pathname of
		     the desired directory or click the Browse button to select a 
		     directory.  Click Exit.
3. Click Close.
4. Restart the service.


Updating the IP Console Switch:
==================

Before beginning the update procedure, be sure that the Secure TFTP Server is
installed on your computer, and that you have Get access permissions on the folder
your update file (firmware image) is in.  Also, please be sure that the IP Console
Switch is on the same network as the computer that you are using for the update.

Updating the IP Console Switch via Hyperterminal
===================================
To update via the Hyperterminal program, you must have a DB9 RS-232 cable
connected between the IP Console Switch and the computer you are currently using.
	 1. Start Hyperterminal by clicking Start => Accessories => Communications
	    => Hyperterminal.
	 2. On the Connection Description screen, type in the name for your
            session in the Name textbox.
	 3. In the Connect To window, select the comm port being used to connect
            to the IP Console Switch from the Connect Using drop-down box.
	 4. When prompted for Port Settings, use the following settings:
		  i.  Bits per second: 9600
		 ii.  Data Bits: 8
		iii.  Parity: none
		 iv.  Stop Bits: 1
		  v.  Flow Control: none
	 5. Press the Enter key to sync up with the IP Console Switch.  You
            will be presented with text saying that the IP Console Switch
            is ready. Press any key to continue.
	 6. From the Main Menu, select option 2 (Firmware Management) by
            pressing 2 followed by the Enter key.
	 7. From the Firmware Management Menu, select option 1 (Flash Download)
            by pressing 1 followed by the Enter key.
	 8. Enter the IP address of the TFTP Server that has the update file.
	 9. Enter the exact path of the update file
            (ie C:\Download\HP\h3_0_0_english.fl).
	10. Type Y at the prompt when it asks you if you want to download 
            the upgrade file from the given IP address.
	11. The IP Console Switch will then begin upgrading.  Do not power
            down the IP Console Switch while the upgrade is occurring. 
            This update can take up to 10 minutes to finish.
	12. When finished, the IP Console Switch will reboot and finish its
            updating. After the upgrade is completed,it will present the user
            with the text saying that the IP Console Switch is ready.

Updating the IP Console Switch via the IP Console Viewer
===========================================
1. Select the desired IP Console Switch from the list and click the Manage Console
   Switch button.
2. Click the Tools page and click the Upgrade Console Switch Firmware button.
3. Type in (if necessary) the IP address of the computer your update is located
   on in the TFTP Server IP Address textbox.
4. Type in (if necessary) the complete path of your update file in the Firmware
   Filename textbox (ie C:\Download\HP\h3_0_0_english.fl).
5. Click the Upgrade button.  Do not power down the IP Console Switch during the
   update. This update can take up to 10 minutes to complete.
6. After the upgrade is completed, click the OK button when prompted to reboot
   the IP Console Switch.
7. After rebooting, the upgrade is completed.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
