Readme File ----------- HP Multifunction Gigabit Server Adapter Remote Installation Services (RIS) Driver for Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 x64 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ RIS lets you perform Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows 2003x64 operating system installations on any number of client computers simultaneously from a central location. When installing HP Multifunction Gigabit Server adapters using RIS, you must use the HP provided RIS driver instead of the Microsoft driver. HP Multifunction Gigabit Server adapters (NC37x/NC38x) use a software architecture that includes a Virtual Bus Device (VBD) to extend its functionalities beyond basic network connectivity. At this time, the Microsoft driver does not currently support this acrchitecture for its Remote Installation Services (RIS); therefore, you must use the RIS driver located on the HP Software and Documenation CD. Refer to http://www.microsoft.com for more information on RIS. The RIS drivers are located on the HP Software and Documentation CD for your operating system as follows: For Microsoft Windows 2000: \win2000\ris For Microsoft Windows 2003: \win2003\ris For Microsoft Windows 2003x64: \win2003x64\risDownload Driver Pack
