Introduction
=========

This file describes the SCO UnixWare 7.1.X driver for the
Broadcom NetXtreme II family of 10/100/1000/2500 Mbps
Ethernet Network Interface Controllers.

Driver Software Package
==================

This driver is released as an installable package in datastream format.

Installing Driver
============

Do the following to install the bnx2 driver on the UnixWare system:

pkgadd -d <install path>

where <install path> is the full path name of the installable package
bnx2-<version>.pkg. After the package is installed, use netcfg or
scoadmin network to configure a Broadcom NetXtreme II adapter into
the system.

Please refer to the bnx2 manual page for details on how to configure
the driver.

Unexpected WARNING messages
=========================

This driver contains a new feature that allows the linkspeed, as
reported by ndstat, to be updated as the link conditions change.
Unfortunately, this feature will produce warning messages on older
UnixWare installations instead. If you see the following warning
message, you will need to update your installation :

WARNING : mdi_primitive_handler - Unexpected message from MDI driver(bnx2), primitive = 0x17

To get rid of these messages, download and install Unixware 7.1.4
Maintenance Pack 2 or later from SCO's website.
