Dear WinTV Customer,

Thank you for purchasing the WinTV-PVR MCE-Kit. We hope you will be happy with adding TV to your Media Center Edition PC!

Media Center is Microsoft's full screen media experience. Under Media Center, you can view your digital pictures, play DVD videos and also watch and record TV on your PC screen. The WinTV-PVR MCE-Kit designed to add TV and remote control to Media Center, and supports full screen TV watching and recording under Media Center.

In addition to the full screen Media Center support, the WinTV-PVR MCE-Kit includes the Hauppauge suite of WinTV applications for "TV-in-a-window" outside of Media Center. These applications include the WinTV2000 and DVD MovieFactory applications, and can also be used under Windows XP Home and Windows XP Pro.

Please be aware that our WinTV applications have the following limitations:
- only one application can use the WinTV-PVR at a time. Therefore, you cannot run the WinTV applications and Media Center at the same time. Please close any running WinTV applications before starting Media Center.

- the Media Center remote control included with the WinTV-PVR MCE-Kit can be used to change channels and adjust the audio volume in the WinTV applications, but other remote control buttons have no function.

- the DVD MovieFactory program included with the WinTV suite of applications can be used to burn DVD's from recordings made with the WinTV2000 application, but not with TV recordings made within Media Center.

- if you would like to make recordings from your VCR or camcorder, you need to use WinTV2000 to make the recording. Media Center cannot be used to make digital recordings from a VCR or camcorder.
