This file contains additional information to supplement the manual.
Please read all the sections before you proceed with the installation.

This file contains the following sections:

    1. Release Notice
    2. Installation Guide
    3. About DOS Games
    4. If You Encounter Problems

1. RELEASE NOTICE

This software package is the formal release of the PCA70PS Windows
95 drivers version 2.10. Please report any bugs found to Philips
   B.U. PC Add-on Cards.

2. INSTALLATION GUIDE

If you have previously installed the earlier release of the PCA70PS
device driver, please remove them manually with the following steps:

   1) Use the system applet to delete all Crystal folders below the
"Sound, video, and game controllers" icon on the Device Manager
       tab.

   2) Delete PCA70PS.INF and any oem(x).inf's created by previous
installs of the Crystal driver in the \windows\inf directory.

After that, you can proceed to install the current driver.

With the PCA70PS PnP card plugged into your system, Windows 95
begins detecting the card and displays a dialog box that includes
   the following information:

   MS Windows Sound System Compatible
   * Windows default driver
   * Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer
   * Do not install a driver (....)
   * Select from a list of alternate drivers

Select the 2nd option, "Driver from disk...", and insert the setup
diskette in the floppy drive. Select OK to start the installation.
Choose "Philips PCA70PS PnP Audio Hardware" when Windows prompts
you for this driver. After the driver files are copied, Windows
requests to restart. Click on Yes to restart Windows.

For the devices Gameport Joystick and MPU-401 Compatible, select
the Windows default driver. You will be prompted to insert your
Windows 95 setup diskettes or CD-ROM for those drivers if you have
   not installed them before.

After all the drivers are installed, Win95 will not restart again.
If the volume control icon does not appear on the taskbar. Just
open [Control Panel:Multimedia:Audio] and enable the option "Show
   volume control on the taskbar".

3. ABOUT DOS GAMES

As Microsoft's recommendation, all PnP cards are well configured
after entering Windows 95. Thus, under the mode "Command Prompt Only"
in the boot menu, which is activated by pressing F8 before starting
Windows 95, PCA70PS card is not guaranteed to work properly with
   those DOS games.

To run DOS games smoothly, please either open DOS boxes in Windows 95
or restart Windows 95 in MS-DOS mode.

4. IF YOU ENCOUNTER PROBLEMS

If you encounter problems when installing or using the Philips
PCA70PS card, please refer to the "Troubleshooting" section in
   the user's manual.
