               SiS IDE Driver Installation For Windows NT
              =============================================

   ^NOTICE
      If your Microsoft NT is installed from floppy, please start
      SiS IDE Driver installation from step (01).
      If your Microsoft NT is installed from CD-ROM, please start
      SiS IDE Driver installation from step (05).

01) From the "Main" Group in "Program Manager", Start "^Control Panel".

02) From the "Control Panel", choose "^Devices".

03) Use the "Start_up" button to change the "^Scsidisk" device's startup
    setting from "disable" to "boot".

04) Use the "Start_up" button to change the "^Atdisk" device's startup
    setting from "boot" to "disable".

05) From the Options menu in "^Windows NT setup", choose
    "^Add/Remove SCSI Adapters".

06) In the SCSI Adapter Setup dialog box, choose the "^Add" button

07) In the "^Adapter:" list dialog box, choose
    "^Other (Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer)"

08) Next, you will see the "^Insert Diskette" dialog box,
    insert the SiS driver disk into Drive A and type
         "A:NT35" into dialog box.

09) Next, In "Select OEM Option" dialog box, choose
    "^SiS PCI MASTER IDE Miniport Driver" and click "OK".

10) In the "^Select SCSI Adapter Option" dialog box, click on the
    "^Install" button in the dialog box.

11) When the "^SCSI Adapter Setup" dialog box reappear,
    check whether "^IDE CD-ROM [ATAPI 1.2] / Dual_channel PCI IDE" is listed.
    If yes, select it with mouse and click "^Remove" button.

12) Installation is successful if the "^SCSI Adapter Setup" dialog box
    reappear, and "^SiS PCI MASTER IDE Miniport Driver" will be
    listed as an installed driver.

13) Reboot your system.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
