This document provides late-breaking or other information that 
supplements the Creative WebCam Monitor documentation. Please  
read  through all the sections before you proceed with the
installation.

1.   WHAT'S NEW IN WEBCAM MONITOR

     Support Win XP.


2.   NOTES ON WEBCAM MONITOR
     --------------------------------
     
     Windows video capture will not use video compression by default. 
     If you have storage constraint, you will have to configure the 
     video compression parameters via this software. For further 
     information, refer to the help file.


3.   KNOWN ISSUES
     ------------ 
     
     You are still able to click the "Start Monitor" button without 
     any error prompted even when your Creative Webcam Vision is not 
     plugged in.
         
     Do the following:
     1) Start WebCam Monitor.
     2) Click the "Start Monitor" button.
     3) Click the "Stop Monitor" button.
     4) Unplug Creative Webcam Vision.
     5) Restart WebCam Monitor.
         
     To avoid this problem, you are advised NOT to disconnect the 
     Creative Webcam Vision when the software is running.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
