The setup program for the Quatech Device Manager also installs (disabled) the hardware drivers required to use Quatech's ISA, PCI, and PCMCIA serial communications products in Windows NT. These drivers are enabled as needed when a Quatech hardware device is installed with the utility. The Quatech Device Manager utility also works with Quatech's USB to Serial adapters and ThinQ SDS (Serial Device Sever) products. Drivers for the USB and ThinQ SDS products must be installed seperately from the utility. If you run the setup for the Quatech Device Manager off of a "USB Support for Windows NT" cd, the USB driver setup will launch automatically at the end of the Quatech Device Manager installation. SDS ThinQ devices are installed via the "ThinQ Install Wizard" located on the "ThinQ Serial Device Server" CD and will likewise automatically launch the Device Manager install following the SDS installatin and subsquentially the USB Driver install at which time the option can be taken to continue or not install the USB dirvers. For full information on using the Quatech Device Manager for Windows NT, please see the online User's Manual included with the product. Start the device manager program by either its shortcut installed to the desktop, or from the shortcut in the "Start" menu under Quatech. To access the electronic help, click the "?" icon in the top right corner of the utilities main window, and then click anywhere inside the main window. The User's Manual may also be accessed from within the WinNT "Start" menu. ==================================================================================================== [SECTION 2: Devices Supported] The following Quatech ISA to Serial Adapters are supported by this utility & driver set: ES-100DS "8 port ISA (RS-232) D-Shell Connector" ES-100MS "8 port ISA (RS-232) Modular Connectors" QS-100DS "4 port ISA (RS-232) D-Shell Connector" QS-100MS "4 port ISA (RS-232) Modular Connectors" DS-100S "2 port ISA (RS-232) D-Shell Connectors" DS-102S "2 port 8-bit ISA (RS-232) D-Shell Connectors" QS-210DS "4 port ISA (RS-232 & RS-422 combo) D-Shell Connector" QS-310DS "4 port ISA (RS-232 & RS-485 combo) D-Shell Connector" QS-200DS "4 port ISA (RS-422) D-Shell Connector" QS-300DS "4 port ISA (RS-485) D-Shell Connector" QS-200MS "4 port ISA (RS-422) Modular Connectors" QS-300MS "4 port ISA (RS-485) Modular Connectors" DS-200S "2 port ISA (RS-422) D-Shell Connectors" DS-300S "2 port ISA (RS-485) D-Shell Connectors" DS-202S "2 port 8-bit ISA (RS-422) D-Shell Connectors" DS-302S "2 port 8-bit ISA (RS-485) D-Shell Connectors" The following Quatech PCI to Serial Adapters are supported by this utility & driver set: DSC-100 "2 port PCI (RS-232)" QSC-100 "4 port PCI (RS-232)" DSC-200 "2 port PCI (RS-422)" DSC-300 "2 port PCI (RS-485)" QSC-200 "4 port PCI (RS-422)" QSC-300 "4 port PCI (RS-485)" ESC-100D "8 port PCI (RS-232) D-Shell Connector" ESC-100M "8 port PCI (RS-232) Modular Connectors" DSCP-100 "2 port Compact PCI (RS-232) D-Shell Connectors" DSCP-200/300 "2 port Compact PCI (RS-422/485) D-Shell Connectors" QSCP-100 "4 port Compact PCI (RS-232) D-Shell Connector" QSCP-200/300 "4 port Compact PCI (RS-422/485) D-Shell Connector" SSCLP-100 "1 port Low-Profile PCI (RS-232) D-Shell Connector" SSCLP-200/300 "1 port Low-Profile PCI (RS-422/485) D-Shell Connector" DSCLP-100 "2 port Low-Profile PCI (RS-232) D-Shell Connectors" DSCLP-200/300 "2 port Low-Profile PCI (RS-422/485) D-Shell Connectors" QSCLP-100 "4 port Low-Profile PCI (RS-232) D-Shell Connector" QSCLP-200/300 "4 port Low-Profile PCI (RS-422/485) D-Shell Connector" ESCLP-100 "8 port Low-Profile PCI (RS-232) D-Shell Connector" The following Quatech PCMCIA Adapters are supported by this utility & driver set: SSP-100 "Single RS-232 Serial Port PC Card" DSP-100 "Dual RS-232 Serial Port PC Card" QSP-100 "Quad RS-232 Serial Port PC Card" SSP-200 "Single RS-422/485 Serial Port PC Card" DSP-200 "Dual RS-422/485 Serial Port PC Card" QSP-200 "Quad RS-422/485 Serial Port PC Card" SPP-100 "PCMCIA Enhanced Parallel Port Card" The following Quatech USB to Serial Adapters are supported by this utility (Additional Driver's Required): SSU-100 Single-channel USB to RS-232 DSU-100 Two-channel USB to RS-232 DSU-200/300 Two-channel USB to RS-422/485 QSU-100 Four-channel USB to RS-232 QSU-200/300 Four-channel USB to RS-422/485 ESU-100 Eight-channel USB to RS-232 ESU-200/300 Eight-channel USB to RS-422/485 HSU-100 Sixteen-channel USB to RS-232 HSU-200/300 Sixteen-channel USB to RS-422/485 The following Quatech Serial Device Servers are supported by this utility & driver set: SSE-100 Single-channel ethernet to RS-232 SSE-200/300 Single-channel ethernet to RS-422/485 DSE-100 Two-channel ethernet to RS-232 DSE-200/300 Two-channel ethernet to RS-422/485 QSE-100 Four-channel ethernet to RS-232 QSE-200/300 Four-channel ethernet to RS-422/485 ESE-100 Eight-channel ethernet to RS-232 ESE-200/300 Eight-channel ethernet to RS-422/485 HSE-100 Sixteen-channel ethernet to RS-232 HSE-200/300 Sixteen-channel ethernet to RS-422/485 ==================================================================================================== [SECTION 3: Installing the Utility & Driver Set] The Quatech Device Manager for Windows NT is currently distributed on the sources listed below. * Quatech USB Driver Support CD * Quatech Communication Products Drivers & Manuals CD * Quatech ThinQ Serial Device Server CD * Online at http://www.quatech.com If your installing off either of the first two CD distributions, simply run "Setup.EXE" from the Windows NT drivers directory, on the ThinQ CD the Setup.EXE can be found in the "Device Manager subfolder under the "ThinQ" main folder. The setup program will install the NT Device Manager utility, and the drivers required to use any of the ISA, PCI, or PCMCIA devices listed in Section 2 above. The Device Manager setup program will start the USB driver setup automatically when it finishes if you are running off the Quatech USB Driver Support CD or the ThinQ SDS CD. The Quatech Device Manager for Windows NT utility is distributed online as a self extraction EXE file named "NTDeviceManager.EXE". To install or update an existing installation, download "NTDeviceManager.EXE" and execute the file. The file will decompress and automatically launch the same setup program which the CD version has. ==================================================================================================== [SECTION 4: Driver Files Includes with this Driver Set] The set consists of all driver files required for both Windows 98/ME and Windows 2000.
