LAN Manager Workstation/Server Introduction: ------------- This document describes the procedure to setup LAN Manager 2.1 Workstation/Server driver for the PCMCIA 10/100M Fast Ethernet Card. You must run Socket/Card services device driver and/or Enable program before you invoke any Ethernet driver. For the detailed information on how to insatll PCMCIA driver, please refer to the User's Manual or the "About PCMCIA" section in README file. Location of Driver:(DOS)\MSLANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\AX8190\AX8190.DOS Sample Configuration Files: --------------------------- CONFIG.SYS (for DOS will contain): DEVICE=C:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\PROTMAN\PROTMAN.DOS /I:C:\LANMAN.DOS DEVICE=C:\LANMAN.DOS\DRIVERS\ETHERNET\AX8190\AX8190.DOS Setup Procedures: ----------------- Before you start the installation process, make sure that the adapter is properly installed and configured. Make sure your Microsoft LAN Manager is properly installed. 1. Run the Microsoft Lan Manager SETUP from DOS prompt. Select "Configuration" item, (this driver isn't included in the Lan Manager disk) and insert this driver diskette, select the PCMCIA Ethernet Card and follow the directions. 2. When completed, reboot your computer . NOTES: ------ 1. Parameters for the PROTOCOL.INI file: DRIVERNAME: This is the one required parameter. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
