Installation Instructions and Release Notes
v1.0 July 9, 2001
//==========================================
Release Notes for v1.0
======================
The AMDK7.SYS processor driver enables Windows XP to provide native support for AMD PowerNow!
processor performance control technology on mobile systems incorporating the AMD K7 processor.
This driver has been WHQL signed. This driver will also be made available via Windows Update
at a future date.
The AMDK7.SYS driver will automatically use an ACPI 2.0 interface if the _PSS, _PCT, _PPC objects
are present in the ACPI namespace.
To enable use of the legacy AMD PowerNow! interface, the following registry key must be set:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AmdK7\Parameters]
"HackFlags"=dword:00000001
Note: On systems with both the ACPI 2.0 processor performance objects and a legacy interface, the
amdk7.sys processor driver will use the ACPI 2.0 interface.
