File Name: RELEASE.TXT Product Name: NI6510-NSDRV-4.00 Description: NetWare 3.x/4.x Server Driver for InterLan EtherBlaster Version: 5.85 Part Number: 158-0411-00 149-0411-00 SECTION 1 - Overview -------------------- The driver in this directory allows the Racal InterLan EtherBlaster adapter used in a file server executing NetWare 4.x. It is implemented as a NetWare Loadable Module (NLM). To use this driver in a file server executing NetWare 3.x, see the RELEASE.TXT file in the NETWARE.3 directory on this disk. Version 5.62 was written and tested for conformance to version 3.2 of the Novell server driver specification (Doc #2.0, 3/94, P/N 107-000007-001). It supports the PCnet-ISA+ version of the EtherBlaster as well as previous EtherBlaster and NI6510 versions. Version 5.70 disables the Guaranteed Access Time (GAT) mode in the Intel 823878I System I/O (SIO) chip, which is found in some PCI/ISA PCs. When enabled, this mode can cause a violation of ISA bus timing specification for bus master devices. As a result, the InterLan EtherBlaster is prevented from accessing host memory in a timely manner. GAT mode can be modified on the command line to override the driver default (to turn GAT off). The keywords are GAT=ON (always turns it on), GAT=OFF (always turns it off), and GAT=NONE (does not change the system power on default). This version also supports Plug and Play. The following Novell certifications have been obtained: L-2711 12/04/94 InterLan EtherBlaster T2 625-0384-00 Rev AC L-2712 12/04/94 InterLan EtherBlaster T2 8INT 625-0381-01 Rev AB L-2713 12/04/94 InterLan EtherBlaster TP 625-0383-00 Rev AA L-2714 12/04/94 NI6510 625-0104-00 Rev BF Version 5.85 supports the XLerator series and fixes a reset timing problem.
