Product Name: NI6510-NSDRV-4.00
Description: NetWare 3.x/4.x Server Driver for InterLan EtherBlaster
Version: 5.85
Part Number: 158-0411-00
149-0411-00
SECTION 1 - Overview
--------------------
The driver in this directory allows the Racal InterLan EtherBlaster adapter to
be used in a file server executing NetWare 3.x. It is implemented as a
NetWare Loadable Module (NLM).
Version 5.62 was written and tested for conformance to version 3.2 of the
Novell server driver specification (Doc #2.0, 3/94, P/N 107-000007-001).
It supports the PCnet-ISA+ version of the EtherBlaster as well as previous
EtherBlaster and NI6510 versions.
Version 5.70 disables the Guaranteed Access Time (GAT) mode in the Intel
823878I System I/O (SIO) chip, which is found in some PCI/ISA PCs. When
enabled, this mode can cause a violation of ISA bus timing specification for
bus master devices. As a result, the InterLan EtherBlaster is prevented from
accessing host memory in a timely manner. GAT mode can be modified on the
command line to override the driver default (to turn GAT off). The keywords
are GAT=ON (always turns it on), GAT=OFF (always turns it off), and GAT=NONE
(does not change the system power on default). This version also supports
Plug and Play. The following Novell certifications have been obtained:
L-2711 12/04/94 InterLan EtherBlaster T2 625-0384-00 Rev AC
L-2712 12/04/94 InterLan EtherBlaster T2 8INT 625-0381-01 Rev AB
L-2713 12/04/94 InterLan EtherBlaster TP 625-0383-00 Rev AA
L-2714 12/04/94 NI6510 625-0104-00 Rev BF
Version 5.85 supports the XLerator series and fixes a reset timing problem.

SECTION 3 - Installing this driver under NetWare 3.x
----------------------------------------------------
The driver in this directory can be installed under NetWare 3.x. It is
assumed that NetWare has been previously installed and that SERVER.EXE has
been started.
1. Insert the EtherBlaster LANTALK diskette in floppy drive A.
2. Load the driver.
For NetWare 3.11, type
LOAD A:\NETWARE.3\LSLENH
LOAD A:\NETWARE.3\NI6510
For NetWare 3.12, type
LOAD A:\NETWARE.3\NI6510
When prompted, enter the port address, DMA channel and interrupt level.
3. Bind the IPX protocol stack to the card by typing
BIND IPX TO NI6510
When prompted, enter the IPX network number for the subnet.
4. To load the driver each time the server is rebooted, follow these steps:
a) Type LOAD INSTALL.
b) Under System Options, select "Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF".
c) Add the following lines to AUTOEXEC.NCF:
For NetWare 3.11:
LOAD LSLENH.NLM
LOAD NI6510 PORT=340 INT=10 DMA=5
BIND IPX TO NI6510 NET=1234
For NetWare 3.12:
LOAD NI6510 PORT=340 INT=10 DMA=5
BIND IPX TO NI6510 NET=1234
(the values for PORT, INT, DMA and NET are examples--yours
may be different)
Press ESC and save the changes.
d) For NetWare 3.11 servers, add the following line to STARTUP.NCF:
Set Maximum Receive Packet Size = 2100
Press ESC and save the changes.
e) Exit the install program.
5. Before rebooting the server, log in as SUPERVISOR from any workstation
on your network. Copy the files NI6510.LAN, ETHERTSM.NLM and MSM31X.NLM
from the \NETWARE.3 directory on the LANTALK diskette to the SYS:\SYSTEM
directory on the file server. For NetWare 3.11 servers, also copy the
files LSLENH.NLM and PATCHMAN.NLM.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
