A. FEATURES
========
MDP3858 Series Modems (V-U/V-E/V-A/V-SA/SP-U/SP-E/SP-A/SP-SA) is featured
to support Voice and SpeakerPhone under TAPI mode ONLY. It does not
support under Non-TAPI mode.
For more information on TAPI, please visit Microsoft Website.
1. The SpeakerPhone feature of this product also works with sound card
and TAD connector. A proper TAD cable connecting the modem and the
sound card through the TAD connectors.
2. The Voice feature of this product is supported through the Answering
Machine. (Playback of greeting message will be heard by the remote
end)
3. Playing of recorded messages requires a sound card.
4. This product is compatible to any Windows 95 platform. It is not
meant for Windows 3.x and DOS platform.
5. Silent Detection is currently not supported in this release.
6. The AT Command Instructions Set for the Modem hardware is available
in Microsoft Word format (filename:ATCOMSET.DOC). This file can be found
on the diskette provided and also under your \WINDOWS subdirectory.
7. This product supports output set to buzzer and speaker. Selection can
be made through SET AUDIO utility (setaudio.exe) found in the Windows/
root directory. Informations provided by the utility consists of the
procedure to complete the selection.
8. MDP3858 can be set up on both WIN95 and WIN95(OSR2) but no support
on WIN3.x and DOS platform.
9. Windows Dos Terminal Emulation is supported. Due to the PCI
way of assigning IRQ to the Modem, please do not use old DOS
applications in WIN95 Dos Emulation Box. Try to use Up-To-Date
DOS applications such as PROCOMM PLUS - Version 2.0 etc.
To setup DOS Box support, please check the DOS Support Box under
Modem Properties for this feature.

B. TRIO COMMUNICATION SUITE INSTALLATION.
======================================
1. MDP3858 Series Modems comes with Trio Communication Suite 5.1 in the
Multimedia CD.
2. Insert the CD and select Trio Communication Suite Installation.
3. Follow the instructions through the installation.
4. At "TCS 5.1 System Test", select "Run Complete Modem Test" to complete
installation under TAPI mode.

C. HOW TO USE THE SPEAKERPHONE FEATURE ?
===================================
1. Make sure you have a sound card properly installed in the system.
2. Locate the TAD connector of your sound card and the modem.
3. Connect these TAD connectors using a TAD cable.
4. Connect your Microphone to the MIC-In jack of your sound card.
5. Connect your Speakers to the Line-Out/Speaker-Out of your sound card.
7. Run Trio Communications application, and speakerphone feature should be
ready.

D. HOW TO RECORD YOUR OWN GREETING ?
===============================
The Trio Communications application comes with default greeting messages.
To customize or record own personal greeting message, follow the steps
below :
1. Go to Trio Communications' "MediaPlayer" and create a new voice file.
2. Select "TrioVoice (DFV), Low Compression".
3. Proceed to record your new voice file.
4. Save this file under \DataFax\Data\Voice\Wave of your harddisk.
5. Exit and go to Trio Communications' Main menu.
6. Go to "Answering Machine Example" icon and select "Answering
Machine".
7. Use the pull-down menu and select the file you recorded/saved.
With the above steps, your Trio Communications application is personalize
to your own greeting message.

E. WHAT IS A TAD ?
=============
TAD stands for Telephone Answering Device. Most modems and sound cards
nowadays comes with a built-in TAD connector. Reasons are as follows :
1. It establish a link between the sound card and the modem internally.
2. It allows user to leave the Microphone connection on the sound card,
while the same Microphone can be use during speakerphone conversation.
3. It allows user to leave the Speaker connection on the sound card,
while the same Speakers can be use for any modem audio output.

F. UNIMODEM DRIVERS INSTALLATION
=============================
Unimodem drivers are to be installed to ensure that voice feature is
supported by the modem. Unimodem is only to be installed in Win95,
Win95 SR1 and Win95 SR2 environment. Refer to Easy Start Kit for details
of installation.

G. HOW TO USE THE SET AUDIO UTILITY ?
==================================
Product comes with Buzzer and Voice output feature. Both feature can be
selected through the SETAUDIO.EXE utility found in the Windows/ root
directory.
HOW TO SET OUTPUT TO BUZZER ?

1. From Windows 95 Start button, go for Run and Browse to Windows directory.
2. Run "setaudio.exe" file in the directory.
3. From drop-down menu, select " Buzzer (Internal) " and OK.

1. From Windows 95 Start button, go for Run and Browse to Windows directory.

H. HOW TO UNINSTALL MODEM ?
========================
Product is installed with Uninstall Program allowing user to remove modem
completely from the system. To perform an un-installation of modem,
proceed to Add/Remove Program in Control Panel to remove modem.

A. FEATURES

Modems der Reihe MDP3858 (V-U/V-E/V-A/SP-U/SP-E/SP-A/SP-SA) sind für die Unterstützung der Features "Voice" (Sprache)
und "SpeakerPhone" (Lautsprechertelefon)im TAPI-Modus ausgelegt. Diese Features werden ausschließlich im TAPI-Modus

1. Das Feature "SpeakerPhone" dieses Produkts kann auch in Verbindung mit einer Soundkarte und einem TAD-Anschluß
verwendet werden. Modem und Soundkarte werden über ein geeignetes TAD-Kabel und TAD-Anschlüsse miteinander
verbunden.
2. Das Feature "Voice" dieses Produkts wird durch den Anrufbeantworter unterstützt. (Grußnachrichten können am
Remote-Ende wiedergegeben und angehört werden.)
3. Zur Wiedergabe aufgezeichneter Nachrichten ist eine Soundkarte erforderlich.
4. Dieses Produkt ist mit jeder Windows 95-Plattform kompatibel. Es ist nicht für die Verwendung auf Windows 3.x-
und DOS-Plattformen bestimmt.
5. Der AT-Befehlssatz für die Modemhardware ist im Microsoft Word-Format (Dateiname: ATCOMSET.DOC) verfügbar. Diese
Datei finden Sie auf der mitgelieferten Diskette sowie im Unterverzeichnis \WINDOWS.
6. Dieses Produkt unterstützt die Wiedergabe über den Summer sowie über den Lautsprecher. Sie können einen dieser
beiden Wiedergabetypen über das Dienstprogramm zum Einrichten der Audiowiedergabe (Datei "Setaudio.exe" im
Stammverzeichnis von Windows) wählen. Das Dienstprogramm bietet Ihnen Informationen zum Einrichten des jeweiligen
Wiedergabetyps.

B. INSTALLATION VON TRIO COMMUNICATION SUITE
=========================================
1. Modems der Reihe MDP3858 werden mit Trio Communication Suite 5.1 auf der
Multimedia-CD geliefert.
2. Legen Sie die CD ein, und wählen Sie die Installation von Trio Communication Suite.
3. Folgen Sie den Installationsanweisungen.
4. Wählen Sie bei "TCS 5.1-Systemtest" die Option "Vollständigen Modemtest ausführen", um die Installation im TAPI-
Modus abzuschließen.

C. VERWENDUNG DES FEATURES "SPEAKERPHONE"
======================================
1. Vergewissern Sie sich, daß eine Soundkarte korrekt auf dem Computer installiert ist.
2. Suchen Sie nach dem TAD-Anschluß Ihrer Soundkarte und Ihres Modems.
3. Verbinden Sie die TAD-Anschlüsse über ein TAD-Kabel miteinander.
4. Schließen Sie Ihr Mikrofon an die Mikrofoneingangsbuchse (Mic-In) Ihrer Soundkarte an.
5. Schließen Sie Ihre Lautsprecher an die Ausgangsbuchsen (Line-Out/Speaker-Out) Ihrer Soundkarte an.
6. Führen Sie die Anwendung Trio Communications aus. Die Funktion "SpeakerPhone" sollte jetzt verfügbar sein.

D. AUFZEICHNEN EINER EIGENEN GRUSSNACHRICHT
========================================
Die Anwendung Trio Communications wird mit Standard-Grußnachrichten geliefert. Wenn Sie eine benutzerdefinierte
Grußnachricht festlegen bzw. aufzeichnen möchten, führen Sie folgende Schritte aus:
1. Gehen Sie in Trio Communications zu "Medienwiedergabe", und erstellen Sie eine neue Sprachdatei.
2. Wählen Sie "TrioVoice (DFV), Geringe Komprimierung".
3. Fahren Sie mit der Aufzeichnung Ihrer neuen Sprachdatei fort.
4. Speichern Sie diese Datei unter dem Pfad \DataFax\Data\Voice\Wave auf der Festplatte.
5. Beenden Sie die Aufzeichnung, und wechseln Sie zum Hauptmenü von Trio Communications.
6. Gehen Sie zum Symbol "Beispiel für Anrufbeantworter", und wählen Sie die Option "Anrufbeantworter".
7. Verwenden Sie das Pulldown-Menü, und wählen Sie die aufgezeichnete bzw. gespeicherte Datei aus.
Mit den genannten Schritten haben Sie in der Anwendung Trio Communications Ihre eigene Grußnachricht eingestellt.

E. WAS IST TAD?
============
TAD ist die Abkürzung für Telephone Answering Device (Telefon-Antwortgerät). Die meisten Modems und Soundkarten
werden heute mit integriertem TAD-Anschluß geliefert:
1. TAD stellt eine interne Verbindung zwischen Soundkarte und Modem her.
2. Dank TAD kann das Mikrofon weiterhin an die Soundkarte angeschlossen werden, wobei dasselbe Mikrofon für die
Kommunikation im SpeakerPhone-Modus verwendet werden kann.
3. Dank TAD können die Lautsprecher weiterhin an die Soundkarte angeschlossen werden, wobei dieselben Lautsprecher
für eine beliebige Modem-Audiowiedergabe verwendet werden können.

Unimodem-Treiber werden installiert, um sicherzustellen, daß das Feature "Voice" (Sprache) vom Modem unterstützt
wird. Unimodem-Treiber müssen lediglich unter Windows 95 SR-1 und Windows 95 SR-2 installiert werden. Ausführliche

A. FONCTIONS

La gamme de modems MDP3858 (V-U/V-E/V-A/SP-U/SP-E/SP-A/SP-SA) est conçue pour
prendre en charge la messagerie vocale et le téléphone mains libres sous TAPI en mode ONLY (seul).
Elle ne fonctionne pas en mode Non-TAPI.
Pour plus d'informations sur TAPI, veuillez visiter le site Web de Microsoft.
1. La fonction Téléphone mains libres de ce produit fonctionne également avec une carte son
et un connecteur TAD. Utilisez un câble TAD approprié pour connecter le modem et la
carte son via les connecteurs TAD.
2. La fonction Messagerie vocale de ce produit est gérée via le répondeur
automatique. (La lecture du message d'accueil est entendue par l'utilisateur
final distant).
3. La lecture des messages enregistrés nécessite une carte son.
4. Ce produit est compatible avec toute plate-forme Windows 95. Il n'est pas conçu

5. L'ensemble des instructions de commandes AT pour le matériel du modem est disponible

1. La gamme de modems MDP3858 est livrée avec Trio Communication Suite 5.1 dans le
CD Multimédia.
2. Insérez le CD et sélectionnez Installation de Trio Communication Suite.
3. Suivez les instructions tout au long de l'installation.
4. A l'invite "TCS 5.1 System Test" (Test système TCS 5.1), sélectionnez "Run Complete Modem Test" (Exécuter le test modem complet) pour terminer
l'installation au mode TAPI.

1. Assurez-vous d'avoir installé correctement une carte son dans le système.
2. Localisez le connecteur TAD de votre carte son et du modem.
3. Branchez ces connecteurs TAD à l'aide d'un câble TAD.
4. Branchez votre microphone à la fiche d'entrée du microphone de votre carte son.
5. Branchez vos haut-parleurs à la prise de sortie du haut-parleur de votre carte son.
7. Exécutez l'application Trio Communications ; la fonction Téléphone mains libres doit être
opérationnelle.

D. COMMENT ENREGISTRER VOTRE MESSAGE D'ACCUEIL ?
=============================================
L'application Trio Communications est livrée avec des messages d'accueil par défaut.
Pour personnaliser ou enregistrer votre message d'accueil, suivez les instructions suivantes :
1. Accédez à "MediaPlayer" de Trio Communications, puis créez un fichier vocal.
2. Sélectionnez "TrioVoice (DFV), Low Compression" (TrioVoice (DFV), compression faible).
3. Enregistrez votre nouveau fichier vocal.
4. Sauvegardez ce fichier sous \DataFax\Data\Voice\Wave, sur votre disque dur.
5. Quittez, puis accédez au menu principal de Trio Communications.
6. Sélectionnez l'icône "Answering Machine Example" (Exemple de répondeur), puis "Answering
Machine" (Répondeur).
7. Utilisez le menu déroulant, puis sélectionnez le fichier que vous avez enregistré et sauvegardé.

E. QU'est-CE QU'UN TAD ?
=====================
TAD signifie Telephone Answering Device (Périphérique répondeur téléphonique). La plupart des modems et des cartes son
d'aujourd'hui sont livrés avec un connecteur TAD intégré. Les raisons en sont les suivantes :
1. Ce connecteur établit une liaison entre la carte son et le modem de façon interne.
2. Il permet à l'utilisateur de laisser la connexion Microphone sur la carte son,
tout en pouvant utiliser ce même microphone pour les conversations téléphoniques mains libres.
3. Il permet à l'utilisateur de laisser la connexion Haut-parleur sur la carte son,
tout en pouvant utiliser les mêmes haut-parleurs pour toute sortie audio du modem.

Les pilotes Unimodem doivent être installés afin que la fonction de messagerie vocale
soit prise en charge par le modem. Unimodem doit être installé uniquement dans l'environnement Win95,

Le produit est livré avec les fonctions de sortie Vibreur sonore et Messagerie vocale. Ces deux fonctions peuvent être

1. A partir du bouton Démarrer de Windows 95, cliquez sur Exécuter, puis sur Parcourir pour atteindre le répertoire Windows.
2. Exécutez le fichier "setaudio.exe" dans le répertoire.
3. Dans le menu déroulant, sélectionnez " Buzzer (Internal) " (Vibreur (Interne)), puis cliquez sur OK.

Modems uit de MDP3858-serie (V-U/V-E/V-A/SP-U/SP-E/SP-A/SP-SA) ondersteunen
Spraak en SpeakerPhone ALLEEN in TAPI-modus. Er is geen ondersteuning in
Niet-TAPI-modus.
U vindt meer informatie over TAPI op de website van Microsoft.
1. De Speakerphonefunctie van dit product werkt ook met een geluidskaart
en TAD-connector. Voor de aansluiting tussen modem en geluidskaart is
een passende TAD-kabel tussen de TAD-connectors vereist.
2. De spraakfunctie van dit product wordt ondersteund via de telefoonbeantwoorder.
(Het bericht wordt afgespeeld voor degene aan de andere
kant van de lijn.)
3. Voor het afspelen van opgenomen berichten is een geluidskaart nodig.

B. INSTALLATIE VAN DE TRIO COMMUNICATION SUITE.

1. Modems uit de MDP3858-serie worden geleverd met Trio Communication Suite 5.1
op de Multimedia-cd.
2. Plaats de cd in het cd-ROM-station en selecteer Trio Communication Suite-installatie.
3. Volg de aanwijzingen tijdens de installatie op.
4. Bij "TCS 5.1 System Test" (systeemtest), selecteert u "Run Complete Modem Test"
(volledige modemtest uitvoeren) om de installatie in TAPI-modus te voltooien.

C. SPEAKERPHONEFUNCTIE GEBRUIKEN

1. Controleer of er een correct geïnstalleerde geluidskaart is in het systeem.
2. Zoek de TAD-connectors van de geluidskaart en van de modem.
3. Verbind deze TAD-connectors met behulp van een TAD-kabel.
4. Sluit de microfoon aan op de microfooningang (MIC-In) van de geluidskaart.
5. Sluit de speakers aan op speakeruitgang (Line-Out/Speaker-Out) van de geluidskaart.
7. Voer de applicatie Trio Communications uit. Hierna is de speakerphonefunctie
klaar voor gebruik.

D. UW EIGEN BERICHT OPNEMEN
========================
De applicatie Trio Communications wordt geleverd met een aantal standaardberichten.
U kunt deze berichten aanpassen of een eigen bericht opnemen. Hiertoe doe u
het volgende:
1. Ga naar de "MediaPlayer" van Trio Communications en maak een nieuw spraakbestand.
2. Selecteer "TrioVoice (DFV), Low compression" (lage compressie).
3. Neem het nieuwe spraakbestand op.
4. Sla dit bestand op in de directory \DataFax\Data\Voice\Wave op de vaste schijf.
5. Sluit af en ga naar het hoofdmenu van Trio Communications.
6. Ga naar het pictogram "Answering Machine Example" (Voorbeeld telefoonbeantwoorder)
en selecteer "Answering Machine" (telefoonbeantwoorder).
7. Selecteer het bestand dat u hebt opgenomen/opgeslagen in het keuzemenu.
Als u de bovenstaande stappen hebt opgevolgd, wordt uw eigen bericht afgespeeld.

E. WAT IS TAD ?
============
TAD betekent Telephone Answering Device (telefoonbeantwoorder). De meeste modems en
geluidskaarten worden tegenwoordig geleverd met een ingebouwde TAD-connector, en wel
om de volgende redenen:
1. Er wordt een interne verbinding gelegd tussen de geluidskaart en de modem.
2. De gebruiker kan de microfoonaansluiting op de geluidskaart behouden terwijl
dezelfde microfoon gebruikt kan worden voor gesprekken met de speakerphone.
3. De gebruiker kan de speakeraansluiting op de geluidskaart behouden terwijl
dezelfde speakers gebruikt kunnen worden voor alle audio-uitvoer van de
modem.

F. INSTALLATIE VAN DE UNIMODEM-STUURPROGRAMMA'S

Unimodem-stuurprogramma's moeten worden geïnstalleerd om ervoor te zorgen dat
de spraakfunctie wordt ondersteund door de modem. Unimodem hoeft alleen in een
Win95-, Win95 SR1- en Win95 SR2-omgeving te worden geïnstalleerd. Raadpleeg de

A. FUNCIONES
=========
Los módems de la serie MDP3858 (V-U/V-E/V-A/SP-U/SP-E/SP-A/SP-SA) han sido diseñados
para admitir funciones de voz y manos libres sólo bajo el modo TAPI. Estas funciones
no son operativas en modos distintos a TAPI.
Para obtener más información sobre TAPI, visite el sitio Web de Microsoft.
1. La función de manos libres de este producto también funciona con una tarjeta de
sonido y un conector TAD, con un cable TAD adecuado que conecte el módem y la tarjeta
de sonido mediante los conectores TAD.
2. El contestador automático da soporte a la función de voz de este producto (la
reproducción del mensaje de saludo se oirá en el lado remoto).
3. La reproducción de los mensajes grabados requiere una tarjeta de sonido.
4. Este producto es compatible con cualquiera de las plataformas de Windows 95. No es
funcional en plataformas Windows 3.x ni DOS.
5. Las instrucciones de comando AT establecidas para el hardware de módem están
disponibles en formato de Microsoft Word (nombre de archivo: ATCOMSET.DOC). Este
archivo se encuentra en el disco proporcionado y en el subdirectorio \WINDOWS de su
equipo.
6. Este producto permite la configuración de salida para el zumbador y los altavoces.
Los ajustes se pueden realizar mediante la utilidad SET AUDIO (setaudio.exe), que se
encuentra en el directorio raíz de Windows. La utilidad proporciona información sobre
el procedimiento para realizar los ajustes de sonido.

B. INSTALACIÓN DE TRIO COMMUNICATION SUITE.

1. Los módems de la serie MDP3858 incluyen el conjunto de programas Trio Communication
Suite 5.1 en el CD multimedia.
2. Inserte el CD y seleccione Trio Communication Suite Installation.
3. Siga las instrucciones que aparecen en pantalla durante la instalación.
4. En "TCS 5.1 System Test" (Prueba del sistema TCS 5.1), seleccione "Run Complete Modem
Test" (Ejecutar prueba de módem completa) para realizar la instalación en modo TAPI.

sonido.
7. Ejecute la aplicación Trio Communications. La función de sonido deberá estar lista.

D. CÓMO GRABAR SU PROPIO MENSAJE

La aplicación Trio Communications incluye mensajes pregrabados.
Para personalizar o grabar su propio mensaje, realice lo siguiente:
1. Vaya al "MediaPlayer" de Trio Communications' y cree un nuevo archivo de voz.
2. Seleccione "TrioVoice (DFV), Low Compression" (TrioVoice (DFV), comprensión baja(.
3. Proceda a grabar el nuevo mensaje de voz.

E. ¿QUÉ ES UN TAD?
===============
TAD es el acrónimo de Telephone Answering Device (Dispositivo de contestador telefónico).
La mayoría de los módems y tarjetas de sonido actuales llevan incorporado un conector
TAD por las siguientes razones:
1. Para establecer un vínculo interno entre la tarjeta de sonido y el módem.
2. Para que el usuario mantenga la conexión del micrófono en la tarjeta de sonido y a la
vez pueda utilizarlo durante una conversación con micrófono.
3. Para que el usuario mantenga la conexión de los altavoces en la tarjeta de sonido y a
la vez pueda utilizarlos para salidas de sonido del módem.

A. FUNZIONI

Il modem MDP3858 Series (V-U/V-E/V-A/SP-U/SP-E/SP-A/SP-SA) supporta le funzioni
Voce e Altoparlante SOLO in modalità TAPI e non in modalità non-TAPI.
Per ulteriori informazioni sulla modalità TAPI, visitare il sito Web
di Microsoft.
1. La funzione Altoparlante di questo prodotto è supportata anche dalla scheda
audio e dal connettore TAD. È necessario disporre di un cavo TAD addatto per
collegare il modem e la scheda audio mediante i connettori TAD.
2. La funzione Voce di questo prodotto è supportata mediante la Segreteria
telefonica. L'utente remoto potrà ascoltare il messaggio registrato in segreteria.
3. Per ascoltare i messaggi registrati, è necessario disporre di una scheda audio.
4. Questo prodotto è compatibile con qualsiasi piattaforma Windows 95, ma
non con piattaforme Windows 3.x e DOS.
5. Il set di istruzioni dei comandi AT per l'hardware del modem è disponibile
nel formato di Microsoft Word (nomefile:ATCOMSET.DOC). Questo file si trova nel
dischetto fornito con il prodotto e nella sottodirectory \WINDOWS.

D. REGISTRAZIONE DI MESSAGGI PERSONALIZZATI

L'applicazione Trio Communications viene fornita con i messaggi predefiniti. Per registrare
un messaggio personalizzato, attenersi alla procedura riportata di seguito.
1. In "MediaPlayer" di Trio Communications creare un nuovo file vocale.
2. Selezionare "TrioVoce (DFV), compressione bassa".
3. Registrare il nuovo file vocale.
4. Salvare il file nel percorso \FaxDati\Dati\Voce\Onda sul disco rigido.
5. Uscire e andare al menu principale di Trio Communication.
6. Scegliere l'icona "Esempio di segreteria telefonica", quindi selezionare "Segreteria
telefonica".
7. Scegliere il file registrato/salvato dal menu a discesa.
Attenendosi alla procedura sopra descritta sarà possibile creare un messaggio
personalizzato con l'applicazione Trio Communications.

E. COS'È UN "TAD"?
===============
TAD è l'acronimo di Telephone Answering Device, Dispositivo di segreteria telefonica.
La maggior parte dei modem e delle schede audio dispone di un connettore TAD incorporato
perché:
1. stabilisce un legame interno tra la scheda audio e il modem;
2. consente all'utente di collegare il Microfono con la scheda audio
e utilizzare lo stesso Microfono durante le conversazioni tramite altoparlante;
3. permette all'utente di collegare l'Altoparlante con la scheda audio
e utilizzare lo stesso Altoparlante per qualsiasi output audio di modem.

G. UTILITÀ IMPOSTA AUDIO

In questo prodotto sono disponibili le funzioni Segnale acustico e Voce. È possibile

IMPOSTAZIONE DELL'OUTPUT SU SEGNALE ACUSTICO
