LSI Logic Corporation  - Symbios PCI SCSI MPI Miniport Driver  (NT 4.0)

To install the Symbios PCI SCSI MPI miniport driver do the following:

 1) Ensure the following files are on a flex disk located at:
        \txtsetup.oem
        \nt\symmpi.sys
        \nt\symmpi.tag
        \nt\oemsetup.inf
  2) Boot NT.
  3) From the Start Bar go to 'Settings' select Control Panel.
  4) Double-click on SCSI Adapters.
  5) Select the Drivers tab.
  6) Click on Add.
  7) Click on Have Disk.
  8) Insert flex with driver (above) into system.
  9) Enter a:\nt     Click on Ok
 10) Click on Ok     List should show:
                         Symbios PCI SCSI MPI MiniPort Driver
 11) Enter a:\nt     Click on Continue
 12) Remove flex from system.
 13) Select the Yes option to allow NT to reboot and load the new driver.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
