scripts.txt Driver File Contents (rktools.zip)

This directory contains sample setup scripts for Windows 95.

You can view and edit these scripts using any text editor, or using BATCH.EXE.

* AUTOMATE.INF defines everything required for automatic setup except the
  user's name. It also installs Windows 95 Accessibility features, and can be
  used to customize other aspects of Windows 95 Setup.

* DEFAULT.INF allows user input during Windows 95 Setup, but proposes a
  series of alternate defaults.

* INIPREP.INF describes methods of removing and replacing settings in INF
  files.

* MINBATCH.INF contains the minimum script required for automatic
  installation when upgrading from earlier versions of Windows.

* MSNET.INF contains script statements for installing and configuring
  components for Microsoft networking.

* NWNET.INF contains script statements for installing and configuring the
  Microsoft Client for NetWare Networks and related networking components.

* REGIONAL.INF contains script statements for configuring locale, selected
  keyboard, and multilanguage preferences.

* USERPROF.INF contains script statements for installing and configuring user
  profiles, remote administration of the Registry, and group policies.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
